Why? Because it's fucking Mario, and it's Christmas.
Keep it up. It gets more pitiful with every Doom Article.
1. It's the fastest-selling Zelda in the US.
2. Marquee Nintendo games sell consistently over longer periods of time.
3. Past a certain threshold, you can't assume that sales of a certain game will be proportional to the consumer base. If that was the case, you could say that few if any PS2 games were successful when you consider the number of consoles sold.
4. In this country, only the CoDs and Gears of the industry sell multi-millions in a matter of days.
We get it, you're trolling. Fine. But could you please stop purposely misspelling words. It's not funny nor clever. It's 2012, trolls need to find a new way to troll.
Unless you're not trolling in which case you're just really stupid and need to pick up a f**king book every once in a while.
I didn't need to show up in an article Ive been saying would be inevitable since day 1.
Personally, I'm still waiting for a 3DS Lite, and I'll be damned if the 3DS doesn't do even better once that comes around.
I still can't tell if you're doing it on purpose or not.
I only showed up because people wanted me to comment, because they know Ive been right all along. I just am taking the high road with this topic, and will not officially say I told you so.
Nintendo went all out with the advertising for Skyward Sword. It's everywhere. You can't escape it. They have sunk millions of dollars into advertising this game. The result should be that this game should be selling on the same level as NSMB or Mario Kart.
And it's not.
"4. In this country, only the CoDs and Gears of the industry sell multi-millions in a matter of days."
Bullshit. Where was this logic when NSMB Wii came out and demolished Nintendo's supply of Wii hardware? And nevermind that right now Skyrim is selling out millions and has effectively broken into the mainstream gaming scene now.
While what you say tends to be true about Nintendo's games, it only holds true to *certain* games of theirs. Namely their games that hold true to their roots. Old school 2D Mario, Mario Kart, even Wii Sports was going back to old-school gaming sensibilities.
The fact of the matter (and I know I'm a broken record on this but it's only because it's true) is that Aonuma has turned Zelda into a shitty PC Adventure game and has turned every aspect of the series into some kind of fucking puzzle. *Zelda was not about puzzles!* Zelda was about exploration, about killing stuff, finding better weapons and getting stronger and having an adventure discovering stuff.
Zelda of today under Aonuma's guidance is nothing even remotely like that. But guess what is? Skyrim. Skyrim does the job of what Zelda did today better than Zelda does now. And the sales show this. People are picking the real kick ass action RPG over the shitty puzzle game in Zelda's clothing.
"Fastest-selling" doesn't mean shit when those sales are frontloaded, which is what Skyward Sword's sales clearly are. If this game were actually worth a damn we'd see this game's sales accelerate, but they aren't. Word of mouth would be that this game is awesome. But word of mouth is that this game is "meh".
By the way, when the handheld that the 3DS is supposed to be replacing is still managing to keep up with it in sales, that's not a good sign.

And lo and behold, his reply was right after Gareth's mention of him.
Vanor: "It has the side effect of extending sick people's miserable life."
Someone: "They found extraterrestrial life!"
Vanor: "Aliens will enslave us."
Someone: "Praise the Lord! Jesus has returned!"
Vanor: "Everyone's going to hell."

Vanor: "It mean't your job is understaffed and they can't hire; it's probably going under."
Someone: "We fixed the Arctic Ozone Hole!"
Vanor: "We will die of ozone poisoning."
Someone: "Thanks to cloning the mammoth, dodo and sabretooth have been resurrected from extinction."
Vanor: "The Earth's entire ecosystem is now screwed."
Vanor: "They have joined to declare war on western civilization."
Someone: "This brave fireman saved 10 school children from a collapsing building."
Vanor: "He failed to stop the building from collapsing."
Someone: "I'm taking my wife on a cruise to celebrate our silver anniversary."
Vanor: "He's planning to murder her."
You need an education about this point
"By the way, when the handheld that the 3DS is supposed to be replacing is still managing to keep up with it in sales, that's not a good sign."
Actually its a sign that doesnt matter at all. Pretty much every system in existence sells even when replaced, gba, ps2, ds, snes, doesnt matter.
What is a good sign is that the 3ds has outpaced the ds's first year fiscal sales with 3 months to go and at least 5 big releases left before that. 14+ million sold worldwide when the fiscal year hasnt ended yet is impressive.
