Nintendo working hard to produce Wiis, they promise photo

Can't find a Wii? Think Nintendo are being stingy with their stock to create an artificial demand? That's crazy talk.

Today, Nintendo released this photo taken at their North Bend, Washington distribution center. According to Nintendo, it depicts employees hard at work preparing thousands of Wii for shipment to retailers. Nintendo says that it has tripled its distribution workforce to meet the high demand for the system, producing 1.8 million Wii systems a month, nearly twice what was produced at the same time last year. See, they're trying. They promise.

But just hold on one second, Nintendo! This isn't a picture of workers preparing Wii systems at all! In fact, I don't see a single Wii console in this picture. Oh, Nintendo! You are sharp, but we are the Internets, and you can't pull the wool over our eyes.

Today at 8 a.m PST (11 a.m. EST), we'll be hopping on a call with Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime, who is set to talk about Wii supply and demand through the holidays and beyond. Check back later for call details, which will most likely translate into "You ain't gettin' one, and we're still making a fortune."

I fail to see how Nintendo can not produce ample units- ONE YEAR LATER. It's (almost) a Gamecube with more RAM, I'm gonna go ahead and call bullshit. I'd love to read what Nintendo wants to feed us though, so I guess I'll be back for an update too :D

Nintendo needs to keep up the demand so people are distracted from looking at the release schedule. Anyone looked at the third-party lineup for the next six-months? Yeah, the third-party support is pretty much dead. Nintendo needs to keep the demand up for the next 3 years while it releases Mario Kart, Brawl, Disaster, and Zelda over the next 3 years.

I dunno lub there some interesting rpgs heading its way and no more heroes. I seriusly doubt nintendo is creating false demand since they make a profit on every system thus not selling systems is not as profitable for them. If they were losing money false demand would make total sense becasue they'd want to seel more systems so more software could go out and the false demand might do that but in this case they're just losing more money by not having the systems out there.

It's hard work to remove the Gamecube guts and put them in a Wii case. I swear, it is!

It's funny to me 'cause the R&C franchise on the PS2 was one of the best series of games ever made and trounced 95% of what the Gamecube (and Wii) has ever (or currently) offers.

What a douche.

Hey at least the gloves match the Wii theme, thats really all that matters. Clearly Nintendo has their values in line.

I always assumed the Wii was constructed by cold, unfeeling robots, not fleshy meatbags.
