Nintendo trademarks WiiRelax

Nintendo trademarks WiiRelax photo

If a new trademark is to be seen at face value, Nintendo has taken the misunderstood notion of casual gaming to its natural conclusion and is working on software that allows you to do absolutely nothing in the name of fun. WiiRelax exists as just a name right now, but I think we all know Nintendo well enough to know that it is likely to be a genuine thing.

As far as I could speculate, WiiRelax would basically include a cushion peripheral that you stick the Wiimote in, then you lay on the cushion and have a little sleep. When you wake up, there's a score on your TV screen. I am 100% certain that this is what Wii Relax entails.

What do you think WiiRelax could mean, and what kind of stupid peripherals will come with it?

Nintendo? What have you done to yourself?

WiiRelax is a vibrator attachment for the Wii. This is completely indisputable fact.

Besides, SOMEONE will find a way to use it as one, I'm sure.

I think this is just a placeholder. There's still dozens of Nintendo patents that have yet to materialize into actual products.

Oh snap, serious thought time.

This will be the game that comes with the pulse reading thingamijig. I'd be suprised if it isn't.

I think it actually uses the Wii Pulse peripheral thingy, the thing you stick on your finger to read stress levels and what not.

Should have been calles Wiilax though.

@Stradi

The only good thing the vitality sensor could beused for would be a new Fear Effect!

Or some kind of survival horror game that would have negative effects on the player when they were scared.

How about wiidontcare; the game comes with a countdown to the next Zelda title and a basket you can throw your wii mote into!

Well if your a casual gamer then you have a life and probably a wife/husband etc. Then if wiirelax involves the use of the wii mote to thrust and waggle.... then i assume it give you a score on how well you get giggy with it. Haha, i can imagine kids confused like crazy.

Pretty much what you said, Jim, but with one difference: It'll come with a futon peripheral.

I think you didn't get it... this is obviously an expansion pack for our arms, so once we get tired of hack'n'slash the wiimote, we can use our own bionic arms to keep on movin the wiimote while our mothers still looks weird to us... NICE JOB NINTENDO! =D

Now, seriously... nintendo should wake up and give more life to the wii

How does someone hear the name "WiiRelax" and not think of the Wii Vitality Sensor? That, or adult diapers. Maybe Nintendo is making a diaper peripheral that senses wetness?

If I open the box of WiiRelax and find something other than a carton of Dunhill Superior Milds and a bottle of Booker's, I'm going to deem this game a failure.

I guess this is where you are going to see WiiSensor thingie you put on your finger tip. Hope it also comes with a needle injecting mild toxin to relax your body while you are hooked up to Wii and Zii. Maybe this will be the first game for Zii....call it Zzzzzz...

I think they should trademark and develop WiiLax. It could become a very popular colon cleansing game, complete with its own rectally inserted controller. Tap into the power of the Wii...with your ass!

Swimming in my pool....relaxing. Fishing of the Boynton inlet....relaxing. Long summer nights chillin' with some brews and some bro's....relaxing. Are not videogames meant to entertain? I just don't get it.

This looks to be a trademark of the Wii game that will utilize Nintendo's Wii Vitality Sensor. I'm somewhat of a casual gamer (even though I have this name and avatar :)), so this game looks somewhat interesting to me.

"Nintendo? What have you done to yourself?"

They became the #1 console maker of this generation in less than 3 years, so what have you done lately?

It's the software for the Wii Vitality Sensor, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out. Its not like Nintendo's only putting this out in 2010, so don't freak out about it people. They have Sin & Punishment 2, Metroid: Other M, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Pikmin 3, and maybe even Zelda still coming out next year, or soon thereafter. So its not like Nintendo is only focusing on the casuals now. Its one freaking game VS the many hardcore one, so 2010 could be the best year yet, for hardcore gamers on the Wii, but they still need something for the casuals.

Regardless, relaxing is the last Wii owners and gamers need to do. You aren't either if your blood pressure and profanity aren't out of control.

I think I'll stick with my $4.99 download of Flower for PS3 instead of investing in a relaxation peripheral.

For those who have played it, can you imagine a more relaxing game experience than that?

For all of the wiiwords in the wiictionary, am I the only one upset that they didn't call their built-in wifi "wiifi"? I mean, it's right there! It's just missing an 'i'!

Sorry, that's bugged me since day one. Anyway, WiiRelax sounds like a meditation dvd. Maybe the peripheral will be a stick that you plop onto the wiimote so you can wiirake your zen wiigarden with all the accuracy of wiimotion plus.
