You'd need an Arceus from a Gen IV game for the SS/HG event. Trading for one or AR are the only options.

Anyone who knows their stuff can easily breed a shiny larvitar using RNG abuse. Of course, the ability is nice.
[Ahem] Back in my day there were only 151 Pokemon. However, I always welcome more to spice up the battling.
That said...Tyranitar has long been my favorite. No one ever sees my Tyranitars moveset coming, nor his awesome speed and defence. Top that off with his item and I often go through most of my battles with mostly just him.
In other words: Shiny Larvitar? Do want.
