To gear up for the big Kid Icarus: Uprising launch on March 23, Nintendo is holding a national multiplayer tournament! GameStop locations in four major cities will hold regional bracket style competitions, starting in San Francisco on March 8, continuing onto Orlando on the 11th, Los Angeles on the 15th, and finishing up in New York City on the 22nd.
The winning teams in each market will be sent to the GameStop on Broadway and 84th in New York City for the final round, where attendees will be able to purchase a copy of Kid Icarus: Uprising a full day before release. Those who visit tournament locations during the event will also get a chance to play Uprising before its official 3DS debut.
Well, I guess we all know why Nintendo was pushing the multiplayer thing so hard lately. Still, it's nice to see a national Nintendo competition that isn't Pokemon. Will any of you be participating?
