Nintendo thinks the Wii may need more 'rooms' photo

Nintendo Japan’s recently-launched Wii no Ma (“Wii’s room”) lets users watch free, corporate-sponsored videos as well as download coupons to the Nintendo DSi, all in the space of a virtual living room. Pretty neat, right?

While Nintendo has yet to really release similar “rooms” in North America, the Japanese arm of the company may be thinking about adding even more of them to Japanese Wiis. Siliconera unearthed 12 trademarks, which, when translated, indicate that Nintendo has “rooms” on the brain. And they’re not what you’d guess. How do these sound?

“Anywhere Wii Room”; “Corporation Room”; “Travel Room”; “Gourmet Room”; “Real Estate Room”; “Fashion Room”; “Financial Credit Room”; “Movie Room”; “Enterprise Room”; “Living Room”; “Playing Room”; and “Medical Room.”

Considering Nintendo has always been very adamant about keeping their consoles in the realm of gaming, or at the very least, keeping things “fun,” we’re curious to see what they’ll do with the “Financial Credit Room.” Because that doesn’t exactly sound very entertaining, does it?

@Holyetheline,

Actually, I think MOST of the M rated games on the system have been pretty damn good.

Problem is, they sell like crap so it makes it less and less likely to see more good stuff.

Since Playstation already took "Home" they had to go a step further in, I suppose.

If the Movie room actually has movies, I may get that one. Lets hope it's not a huge bundle, where you have to buy each one.
