Depending on your TV viewing habits as a child, you may forever associate the letters N.O.M with the sound a certain "googly-eyed" Sesame Street character made while smashing cookies against his forehead in a fit of confectionery bliss.
However, if a recent trademark filing has anything to do with it, those letters will soon be the acronym for Nintendo Online Magazine. At this point, no details are known about this potential companion (or replacement) to Nintendo Power -- or if it even exists at the moment. Could this be Nintendo's answer to Sony's Qore service?
Better yet... should we even care?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

There we stop.
nomnomnomnomnom
... wait a second...
Om nom-nom-nom-nom!
What does Nintendo have with choosing weird-assed names for their stuff. Wii and now NOM. Uh-oh, I can see badness combining those two....
Nintendo can then create a Wiinomena, thanks to their Wiinom.
My bad what I meant was does anyone remember that NOM stood for something before this online magazine appeared. That being said Nintendo Official Magazine is horribly written and feels like they are talking to 7 year olds
