Of course everybody bought Wii Play. It was pretty much the only way to get an additional Wiimote within 6 months of the console's launch.
3arc was serious about rounding up some troops and setting up camp over at the Wii. What's not to love about shooting people in the face with motion controls?

Really, so you think Mario Kart Wii, New Super Mario Bros: Wii, Super Smash Bros.: Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Disney Epic Mickey, Super Paper Mario, Star Wars: Force Unleashed, Resident Evil 4, Rock Band, and Call of Duty: World at War are all crap?
Most of those games are the best reviewed games on any system and there all core games. So you just can't see them, over the casual game. People get mad because Just Dance sold millions, so the fact that all these good core games sold multimillions as well, its meaningless to them. Why? Who cares what games sells, as long as people are buying games, it help the entire industry grow!

I've kinda gotta agree that this list is crap, once you take out the mario,zelda,donkey kong samestuff for the past 30 years ur left with nothing but maybe epic mickey, res 4 (a remake + waggle) and the music games that are pointless because they come with their own controller makin the wii's gimmick useless.

I'm impressed that the uDraw tablet did well. Who says third parties can't do well on the Wii? Good for THQ.

I don't think it's fair to say the best games on here don't count if Nintendo made it. Does it matter if the games are good? Saying "if this list wasn't what it is it would suck" doesn't make much sense to me. I'm not a big fan of the Wii, but I'll take Brawl over 90% of the games on other consoles.

I love all the "kiddie and old people" shit being thrown around again. Its like everyone gets amnesia when it comes to nintendo. Nice list, tons of variety on there, from M rated horror games to E rated kids titles. It looks like the videogame equivalent to a list of the best selling DVDs in any given month, with animation, drama, horror, and comedy all represented.
Compare that to a list of the best selling games on the PS3 or 360, which is pretty much dominated by action and horror titles, with a little Pixar or Billy Blanks stuff (like Little Big Planet and Dance Central) thrown in every once and a while, and you get a sense of how homogeneous the PS3's and 360's install bases are compared to the Wii's.

there are so many games that SHOULD be on that list, like Sonic Colours, Okami and muramasa; and so many that shouldn't...
I did not buy Galaxy 2 cause things. Mostly having not beat the Galaxy 1. So yeah... numbers and charts... and stuff. Good times.
Normal list, impossible like them all but there's a little of everything. I think that core gamers are strange, PS3 and 360 are hardcore all the way but people still complain about the Wii like if everything in the market should be 100% focused on them.
You may as well put up a list for the ps2 as well. I mean it's still out there for some reason, so it's just like the wii.
isnt every COD, halo and just about any other fps game the same thing. what makes cod better than mario? nothing but personal opinion. so for those out there bashing the wii list, just remember that the same can be said about your favorit games.

when Call of Duty and Halo are 25 years old and their publishers are still milking them, with very little change, come try again.

The ratio of exercise titles to other genres in the sample is pretty big, to no surprise with the motion controls on the Wii. The percentage of pure exercise genre titles is approx 34%. I sort of wonder whether someone could do a little research on what percentage of the titles (in the above sample) got an average rating of 8 out of 10 or higher. Well, I might post the findings later anyways. :)

They orignially named the system 'Revolution'. It certainly has been. Great list, it shows just how much Nintendo has done for the gaming world.
