Nintendo's day one launch list photo

We've known Nintendo's list of launch titles for the Wii for a fairly long time now. Well, CVG has managed to obtain a list of titles that will be available on day one -- this Sunday. (Hard to believe it's almost finally here, eh?) Here's the complete list for your viewing pleasure:

  • The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
  • Wii Sports (Packaged with every Wii)
  • EXCITE TRUCK
  • Call of Duty 3
  • Tony Hawk's Downhill Jam
  • Marvel Ultimate Alliance
  • Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2
  • Trauma Center: Second Opinion
  • Madden NFL '07
  • Rampage: Total Destruction
  • Happy Feet
  • The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy
  • Avatar: The Last Airbender
  • Cars
  • SpongeBob SquarePants: The Creature from the Krusty Krab
  • Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
  • GT Pro Series
  • Monster 4X4 World Circuit
  • Rayman Raving Rabbids
  • Red Steel

Now, THIS is what I call a launch. Hit the jump for the remaining titles that will be available during the launch window, just in case you don't already know them.

  • Rapala Tournament Fishing
  • World Series of Poker: Tournament of Champions
  • Chicken Little: Ace in Action
  • Need for Speed: Carbon
  • Elebits
  • Konami; The Ant Bully
  • Metal Slug Anthology
  • Super Swing Golf
  • Barnyard
  • Far Cry: Vengeance
  • Open Season
  • Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent
  • Ice Age 2: The Meltdown
In addition to this, there will also be 30 Virtual Console games available for download throughout the launch window. I just can't wait to get my hands on Twilight Princess, Ultimate Alliance and Trauma Center.

I going for Zelda and Elebits for sure and one of the following: Tony Hawk, Trauma Center, or Red Steel...can't decide, but I'm leaning toward Tony Hawk as I'm looking for some solid multiplayer.

Not so, Brandan ... while there may not be too many at launch, there are tons in planning for 2007, including Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Fire Emblem and others.

brandan: Where are all the PS3 launch RPGs? (Hint: Oblivion was delayed.) It's not that I don't agree with you, but right now the next-gen system with the most RPGs is, and you can take this however you want, the X360. In fact, the next-gen system with the most of pretty much EVERY genre is the 360. 'Cause it's actually, um, out. If we could accurately judge a system by its launch games the PS2 would have been a colossal failure.

I'd say that's one of the best launch lineups I can recall.

Yes, Namco publishes Tales. I'm curious as to how RPGs will utilize the Wii's capabilities.

I thought Metal Slug Anthology was a launch title not a "launch window" title, correct me if I'm wrong?

Yea, Namco Bandai has 30 titles planned for the Wii ... now, 30 is a big number, and I'm sure they're going to want to explore all possible genres throughout their support for the Wii. Hopefully, we'll see the Tales series like you said.

Seems many of the titles are for little children. Nothing wrong with that at all but unfortunately, I'm not a little child. I would be going bonkers if I was 10 years old again.

All I know is that all VC games and Metal Slug better be out by the time I get my Wii in December.

Some of those children's games were at the Nintendo event I went to, and people really seemed to like them. I don't know what that says about the people themselves, though. Regardless, every launch has it's fillers. Those are them.

Not bad for day one. Especially considering Nintendo's history of launch support and the fact that the new controller is certainly a challenge initially.

I'm pretty excited myself. I'm about to head out to gamestop to pick up CoD3 and Red Steel. It seems Zelda and Excite truck are street dated and no one wants to sell them yet, but they seem to be selling most of the rest of the list.

If Metal Slug anthologies isn't a launch title, why does IGN (among other sites) have its release date listed as Nov. 19th?

Subnet6, let us (or at least me) know how Call of Duty 3 turned out. I had some problems playing it at the Nintendo event a few days ago, but I think it was just that I wasn't used to the controls.

Wait...I thought Elebits was pushed back until Dec 5 or something like that?

I wonder how Rampage is going to be... haven't heard any news about it, and I used to multiplayer the crack out of it back in the day before it turned into a crap franchise.

Hope it's got a decent multiplayer system that is good fun, because I could use a good 2D fighter to quench my Super Smash Brothers craving....

My current preorder lineup is Zelda and Redsteel, though I'm probably adding Rayman to the list and if I work through those too quickly, maybe trauma center
