Chris Slate! That name takes me back. He used to write for Game Players back in the day, which was pretty much the Destructoid of game magazines.
Still don't totally get why they can't have an all-inclusive-directly-inside-the-studio, web presence. They don't need to print shit, but they've got to have space somewhere for the bandwidth to carry a small website devoted to all things Nintendo.
Yeah, I get it, sites like this and even other sites that DO have a print presence (ironically my Game Informer came yesterday -with Mario on the cover), kinda make the whole thing moot, but they could have figured SOMETHING out. Like I said, REAL behind the scenes at the company and what they're working on -and maybe even all those 3rd parties they say they have so much good will with right now. Pepper in Iwata Asks as an actual feature on that site, instead of something that just purely materialized out of no where (Cause, seriously, I don't think THAT many people know it even exists), and they could have something -at least- Nintendo fans would flock to.. And from all evidence I've seen, theres a lot of Nintendo fans out there.
As for the letter itself, its sweet up until it turns into Reggie being Reggie, and shamelessly promoting the Wii-U on the back of Nintendo Power's legacy.. Its like going to a fucking funeral and trying to sell everyone there a car.
Reggie doesn't piss me off like a lot of Execs in this business do.. But he sure comes close sometimes.
