Kinda surprised it's coming in August. Sad there won't be a second stick. But I can't wait to play Ocarina and Star Fox in 3D.

Argh... Fuuuu! Just after I bought the Circle pad Pro for my 3DS... It doesn't look like it'd fit this thing... Oh well. Guess it was to be expected.

Glad I waited on buying a 3DS. Wish they still had the 2nd nub though unless it was going to be there and not used.
They were never going to add a second nub, they said this but of course people dont listen

I've been waiting for a hardware revision to get a 3DS, but I was hoping for something along the lines of a 3DS lite. I'll probably end up getting this. I don't have it in me to hold out much longer.

It should also be noted it does not include an AC adapter. They assume you will be upgrading and already have a 3ds/DSI charger
Touch screen = second "stick." It worked on the original DS, it's worked on the 3DS. I don't understand the desire for a second physical stick when using the screen as one is so much more accurate.

I tried using the touch screen as a control stick in Super Mario 64 DS. I have never fully recovered from that traumatic incident.

I honestly don't see a reason for a second nub it would just be nice considering the game play you can do with it, but yes I also forgot about people who already have them and you can't expect them to buy a whole new model to play games.

how is adding additional features to new hardware going to screw over the existing customers? They pulled the same move by adding internet to the DS and resold all of the DS owners on DSi. If they're going to increase the size of the device, why not put in a nub?

There's a Nyko attachment coming out in October I think. It adds a 2nd analog nub, 3x better battery life and it serves as a protective case. I was really looking forward to it. I hope they can come out with a version for the XL version too.

You dont need an optional second nub. Nintendo, in none of there handheld redesigns ever, have changed the base design to fracture the userbase.

XL+ Nub would have been perfect. Ah well. And for everyone goings nuts up there about the circle pad pro, they'll certainly make a new one that fits it as well. It would be utterly ridiculous if they didn't.

Oh, I guess you did specify "HANDHELD design" but my example of the DSi's camera and DSiware still applies.
Can't believe it doesn't come with an AC adapter... They're probably trying to keep costs to a minimum, but they're going to confuse and alienate a lot of their customers.

I think this system is mainly for dsi upgrades, and the dsi uses the same cord.

I may swap my current 3DS but these colors are horrible, like plastic ball pit colors. Since everything is on the SD card, I shouldn't lose my Streetpass data at least.
And no charger? If this is for upgraders, don't they realize that anyone selling their system will have to include a charger?

What I want to know is if the top half's screen rests on the bottom half's screen frame like the 3DS. Hard to tell from a face picture.

Finally, maybe it will fit my massive hands. Because the 3ds is just too small. My hands cramp like hell after half an hour.
Th paint doesn't look nearly attractive as the paint on the normal 3DS. It looks cheap and unappealing. Japanese white looks nice, but of course we won't get that.
