Seriously, I played (& beaten) these games and I personally thought they were.....alright. Pandora succked, Xenoblade was ok, and Last Story was kinda cool. I'd probably rent these games in the US . :p
Pandora was sub-par. Didn't have any personality that the other two had (and probably because I was tired when I was playing it). Xenoblade, I approached it as something to do with Xenosaga. The universe is really cool, & it plays quite well. Last Story was the best of the three. An amazing story from start to finish.
I do wish that Earth Seeker gets localized by XSEED. THAT one, looks so fucking buttery.
I dunno, I might write a blog about my experiences with it.
Woahwoahwoah, I didn't enforce my opinion. Not sure if trolling me, or if that's what people actually think of the game.
Jim's in the Midwestern region (THE BEST ONE. WE MAEK YO FOOD, BITCH!) So, you're like two hours behind him, meng.
Hmm, yeah, I've never really played Xenosaga or -Gears, so that might work in my advantage here.
Also, a huge amount of kudos to you, sir, for mentioning Earth Seeker. Just played the Japanese version a bit and, by god, is that game awesome. ^^
Continue to limpwristedly skirt around a possible release if we your CUSTOMERS prove that we really really really want and deserve them and are willing to let blood at the all holy alter of Nintendo for the privilege ...... and if I buy them I will buy them used to out of principal.
Do not release them and say goodbye to the possibility of me EVER buying a WiiU and if I do ever get around to buying a 3DS (think infinite space 2) I will be buying your hardware second hand.
Reggie seems to not really care about giving fans what we want, but getting money from us.
I think it's ridiculous though that NoA needs to wait to see 'if' "business opportunities" arise. As if the fan support wasn't enough already. Clearly these games would make a profit. Perhaps not if Nintendo ship in millions and millions of units expecting record sales (as I fear they are hoping for), but so long as they're sensible about it there's no reason why a game like Xenoblade couldn't make them a tidy bundle.
Gonna hack my Wii tonight and order all the missing Wii goodness from Europe. They're probably not the second coming of Jesus, but still hard to beat compared to the most recent uses of my Wii.. the most recent being MARIO FUCKING GALAXY!
Really want Last Story though. The others can fuck right off as long as I can get Last Story.
Certainly if there are Customer opportunities and positive Nintendo uptake from some of those titles, that will be great data for us to consider as we look at what to do with future Nintendo loyalty.
A business not wanting to lose money on something. Wow, how greedy can they get? For all the people who say they want these games, I bet that if they all came out, none of them would even sell over 250,000 in North America. A couple of them would probably struggle to sell 100,000. So people just like to hear themselves complain!
This may just be me being a fanboy, but I wish they were more like the folks over at Atlus or Nippon Ichi, who are willing to take a chance on bringing quirky titles out in the US, and who understand that there is a niche market that will buy these games.
I don't. Their data suggests that these games will not turn enough of a profit to justify selling it here. You being a fanboy by your own admission suggests of myopia. Atlus and NIS don't work the same way as Nintendo does, and they're more willing to take risks than Nintendo is, even though they're smaller. Nintendo of America wasn't built that way. Deal with it.
I don't expect these games to sell like gangbusters I do however at the least expect them to turn a profit. It might not be anything record breaking it might be just a little over breaking even but there will be a profit involved.
At a point where nintendo could use all the credit they can get with the "hardcore/core gamers", you know the gamers who could rally around the WiiU and the 3DS and make them both a huge success. They choose instead to dismiss them.....after going on some apparent bullcrap schpeel about trying to win them back....
These are the same gamers who when the WiiU comes out are going to look at it and potentially be in a position to write it off as another Wii (see: going to collect dust and have few worthwhile games)and continue walking right over to the PS4 or the 720.
It all boils down to how NOA wants its customers to remember it when it launches its new platforms?
The company who goes the extra mile to support its core gamers like it says it will. Or the company that dicks us around and brings us little more than shovelware (No first party Nin titles are not shovelware but a majority of the software on the Wii is) when they could bring us quality games?
I can say I'm done, I will never be an early adopter of Nintendo hardware again in the future and if (really big if) I ever purchase a Nintendo home console again it will be at its end of life (you know when they launch the new zelda, again Huge freaking IF).
I have the feeling the 3 games will be in the first run of titles for the WiiU. They've done this before, you know...No Mother/Earthbound for NES even if it was done just to put it on the SNES.
Have you ever thought of using your massive influence in the world of video games to contact the MeatMaster himself and set him straight?
The Xenoblade/The Last Story situation is by far the worst thing Nintendo has done in the last 5 years.
If they launch them as WiiU titles .... they might as well have not launched them at all as far as I am personally concerned. I might be able to stomach a copout dual Wii/WiiU launch like they pulled with twilight princess, if they came out right now and said that was their plan (tho several months ago would have been much better) .... I'm just so tired of the same old Nintendo schtick.
It would be pretty ironic that so many people wasted their time asking for mediocre games.
What? No meat reference?
"...like the cruel little sausage that he is."
That's better.
"Last time he said that, it was for Disaster: Day of Crisis - a game which even Nintendo UK/Europe sent out to die quietly. In other words, don't get your hopes up, Americans. This is just something Reggie says to seem considerate when he has no plans of actually making the effort to support fans."
These are the facts, folks. Too bad, really. Seems like a jerk move to say "Well, maybe!..." When in reality, this totally isn't going to happen.
In the meantime, Rhythm Heaven Wii, I await you.
So noticeable fan support and a platform suffering through one of the worst software droughts isn't enough of an opportunity to release XenoBlade, a game that's already localized ? If that's not an perfect opportunity, then I don't know what is. No ones even asking you to market this game! Where's the harm in releasing a limited shipment ? Are you worried it would sell out and you'd have to go through the trouble of sending a 2nd shipment ?
A bit of advice, Nintendo. If this kind of crap is going to happen on Wii U (practically guarenteed), then perhaps you better not region lock the console because youre customers shouldn't have to jump through hoops like this.
From what I remember of the sales comparisons graphic that was posted a while back, the US bought more of the "borderline" Wii games (like No More Heroes, Muramasa, etc) than Europe, with Japan generally buying the least of the three regions.
