Since when did NOA become the 3rd rate market? I could care less about the gimped Wii, but the fact that other markets get something that we don't just pisses me off. Wouldn't you want to sell your products to as many people as possible? Regardless of where they live. Japan getting cool colors in everything really pisses me off for the same reason. Why yes I would actually like a blue ps3 scea! Why yes I would have liked a orange gamecube noa! At least noa is changing their release dates to Friday like the rest of the world instead of sundays, not much but it's a start.

Most likely they're going to put all their US eggs in one basket for the Wii U, they know by now that everyone who's ever wanted a Wii either has one or has traded it in for something else in the US. It'd be a waste of time or resources to try to market and sell a new Wii here when they're staunchly saying the Wii U will be around early next year -they have to put all of that into making us believe the Wii U is worth buying.

Bought my Wii last year, still catching up with a lot of cool games released for the system. I couldn't care less for GC compatibility as I don't have it now either (PAL + vga = bye, bye gamecube)
People really want this? Don't we all have a Wii already? And furthermore, don't we all neglect the hell out of it due to no games?

Nintendo of America probably figured that there wasn't demand for Wii consoles in America. If people complain, then next week Reggie can say that if the Wii Jr. sells in Europe, then NOA will reconsider a US release for the system.
(I had trouble deciding between Wii Jr. or Wii-ED, because the latter is fitting description for when your Wii just fails to work for some sexy older games.)

We never get Xenosaga I or III, nor did we get Baten Kaitos Origins. We never had Xenogears or Final Fantasy VI before that. And it absolutely sucked. You're in the same boat we were in until now. Europe has stopped being treated like an inconvenience - that unfortunate status has gone onto America.

The wii is already slim enough. I don't really care about a cosmetic redesign that takes away features. A mean part of me wants to ask if it's really the best idea making the current library of games playable on the wii smaller.
Haha, no. The Wii isn't exactly a space hog, and Gamecube functionality is part of the draw for the console.
