It seems everyone is getting all giddy inside just thinking about all the ways they can invade your wallet with microtransactions and it appears that the beloved Nintendo is no different. Speaking with GamePro, Nintendo Senior Vice President George Harrison revealed some unknowns about the upcoming Wii Zelda that hint at a microtransaction future we've seen Microsoft pull off:
GP: What sorts of online features are you looking forward to in the future?
Harrison: Downloadable content, such as additional levels.
Good news? Sure, if you're a Zelda fan. The only bad news is if it turns into the Wild Wild West debacle that Xbox Live Marketplace is. The last thing we need is all three console makers making their systems open to devil dogs such as EA and their microschemes.
