If you're confused what you're actually seeing in the pic above, check out this link of footage from Wario Land: Shake it!. Looks pretty cool so far ... uh ... what the ... what just happened?

Nintendo just got a little more clever, that's what just happened (although how they can get any more clever, or any richer for that matter, is beyond me). This little spot of viral marketing will surely be memorable to most who see it, keeping the game fresh in their minds as "the one with that cool You Tube ad!"

What do you think -- is viral marketing effective for you, or do you just kind of laugh at it and go on your merry way?

Nightmare Wizard turns out the lights in Super Smash Bros.

Here's a new Smash assist trophy, Nightmare Wizard. Let's let Sakurai explain. "Nightmare Wizard appears as an Assist Trophy! He will engulf the stage in darkness, and fighters will need to brawl blindly for a while. Look out for the effect before it goes dark, and play it to your advantage. Blinding and reversal effects even make the computer players mess up."more
