Nintendo DS goes silver in September, now you can play games on a silver DS photo

Nintendo has announced that a silver DS will be available in stores on September 7th. The new color will join the already masterful choices by Nintendo that include Colbalt/Black, Metallic Rose, and Coral Pink. The landmark color decision was presumably submitted after millions of hours of focus testing on soccer mothers, thirteen-year-olds, and creepy adults that enjoy Pokemon a tad too much.

Nintendo had a statement to coincide about the announcement:

Millions of people around the world, from core gamers to new players, have discovered Nintendo DS. Some like to play traditional games like New Super Mario Bros., Mario Kart DS or The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. Others use it to train their brains with Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day or solve puzzles with Crosswords DS.

It’s definitely reassuring to know that consumers seeking a portable experience are actually playing games, nonetheless demanding new color schemes. I know this is a bit outside the target demographic, but I wonder who exactly waits for the perfect color (brown, please) of DS before considering purchase?

Soccer mothers? That's an unusually formal take on slang.

I don't own a DS and I never will until they release the polka dot colored model. Because the color of a console\handheld is the absolutely most important feature period.

I've had a silver DS Lite since forever. Sigh... I suppose I'll have to go get another new color now since mine is now en vogue in the US.

I have a silver DS Phat. I'm not going to upgrade until it breaks or a green lite comes out.

After PAX, I've definitely decided to get a DS. I felt left out without one.

The silver DSlite has been out in the UK for nearly a year now. Around two months ago Lime Green, Turqoise and BLOOD RED came out.

Red is by far the best one.
