Nintendo DS Final Fantasy IV original soundtrack details photo

Music4Games has information on the upcoming soundtrack and single releases for the Nintendo DS remake of Final Fantasy IV.

The two-disc set, featuring arrangements of Nobuo Uematsu's amazing original Super Nintendo score by Junya Nakano and Kenichiro Fukui, will go on sale in Japan on January 30th, 2008. This set will also include a promotional DVD.

For now, there's the CD single for the game's love theme, "Tsukino Akari - Final Fantasy IV Theme of Love," peformed by Megumi Ida. Like the full album, this single will include a promotional DVD  containing two promotional videos (Japan's name for music videos) and the Tokyo Game Show trailer.

If you're thinking about importing, I recommend CD Japan as they don't hike up prices. Keep in mind that the promo DVD will only play in Region 2 players, but if you're geeky enough to import (like me), then this isn't a problem for you.

My friend adores the FF games just for the music. She'll make one of us play the games just so she can squee over how great it all sounds... this seems like the perfect present with Christmas coming up! :P

Mustin is always lurking Dale's posts.

Otherwise, is the 2-disc set just an OSV of the tracks that will be on the DS version then?

Watch out for those local anime stores... look at the catalog number, as almost every one I see carries only bootlegs. Grr.
