Flip on your Wii (ha!), head on over to the Wii Shop Channel, and under WiiWare, search "demo." What you'll see is five shiny new demos from the lovely folks at Nintendo. Their goal is to give gamers a taste of the games they're hoping to sell you this holiday season, like demos were a new concept or something.
Download demos of any or all of the following for ZERO Wii points:
- BIT.TRIP.BEAT
- Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a Darklord
- NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits
- World of Goo
- Pokemon Rumble (full version also available this week)
Don't get me wrong, Nintendo. These demos are greatly appreciated. But welcome to four years ago! And instead of having to search for them, you should have a demos section where these things are easily accessible. Way to keep up with the Jonses!

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
At least it's better than buying blindly, or going darker routes to play it.
Someone fought Miyamoto tooth and nail to get those on there.
Nifty. I'll be sure to try out NyxQuest this week.
normally pirating games is the best option, but often those going up on wiiware are small indie titles which i feel morally opposed to ripping off.
@topspot123:
yes, yes, and fuck come on yes. in a perfect world, nintendo will join us here in 'modern day' this year.
As much as I'd like retail demos, I actually am fine with just downloadable game demos. You can't rent from WiiWare, so this is a good thing.
I just tried to download a bunch, and it was actually painless. Not what I expected from some type of online service provided by Nintendo.
between this and the BBC iplayer the wii has got the best week for online stuff its ever had
yeah hopefully this means more demos to come
Who are these joneses you speak of? And do they want to waggle their Wii?
