Nintendo DLC: WiiWare gives (re)birth to Castlevania photo

Of the ten digital games being released across Nintendo's platforms today, one stands out like the bright, popping lights in Eddie Adams' dreams when he saw the name "Dirk Diggler" -- Castlevania The Adventure Rebirth!

For those looking for games that are likely less punishing (and seriously not as a cool), there's plenty to choose from. The classic Super Nintendo title Pilotwings seems like a decent bet, and Gameloft's updated The Oregon Trail (ported from the iPhone version I previewed awhile back) seems like a solid choice.

WiiWare

  • Castlevania The Adventure Rebirth (Konami) - 1,000 Wii Points
  • Eat! Eat! Fight! (Tecmo) - 1,000 Wii Points
  • Rabbids Lab (Ubisoft) - 500 Wii Points
  • The Magic Obelisk (Game Arts Co., Ltd) - 500 Wii Points

Virtual Console

  • Pilotwings (Nintendo, SNES) - 800 Wii Points

DSiWare

  • The Oregon Trail (Gameloft) - 800 DSi Points
  • Sudoku Sensei (Hudson Entertainment) - 500 DSiPoints
  • Glow Artisan (Powerhead Games) - 500 DSi Points
  • Master of Illusion Express: Psychic Camera (Nintendo) - 200 DSi Points
  • Arcade Hoops Basketball (Skyworks Interactive, Inc.) - 200 DSi Point

See anything you like this week? Tell us what you're spending those Wii/DSi Points you got for the holidays on.

Isn't it "Eat! Fat! FIGHT!"? That's what it says in the press release from Nintendo.

Is EEF some kind of niche Japanese hot dog eating game with giant robots?

Because it should be.

Tonight will be a struggle. I have an MCTS exam tomorrow morning (windows 7 deployment) and would definitely benefit from more studying. Passing the exam would bring delayed, uncertain benefits. Castlevania would bring immediate, certain pleasure.

"Castlevania The Adventure Rebirth"

I've had a Wii in my house for over a year and never played it. I might have to make an exception for this one.

Castlevania + Shadow Walker (a.k.a. The Magic Obelisk) = Monday win.

That GrimReaper is not anywhere close to being as scary as the original. Regardless, I love classic Castlevania and will still pick this up.

Someone please explain to me what Rabbids Lab is.

If it lets me perform horrible inhuman science experiments on Rabbids, then it's my game of the year.

I wouldn't hold my breath for Cave Story. It's kind of the Duke Nukem Forever of WiiWare. (Watch, now it will come out next week.)

Kind of pleasantly surprised to see Castlevania... was expecting a longer delay.

Why do so many people complain about what's not there? Its a good week with good games on all three service, so anything that's not out yet, will just make 2010 a a even better year for WiiWare/DSiWare/VC. There are lot's of good stuff coming down the pipeline for all three of those services, but they'll get here when they get here!
