Nintendo DLC Update: LostWinds sequel and tons of Domo photo

Those hot for Domo are in for a surprise this week as Nintendo is unleashing not one, not two, not even three Domo downloads on DSi -- but four complete, absolutely thrilling and satisfying Domo games. Yes, that’s right: Crash-Course Domo, Hard-hat Domo, Pro-Putt Domo, and Rock-n-Roll Domo have made their way to the mobile download platform and are all priced at an agreeable 200 DSi Bones.

Also, coming up on the Nintendo downloads front is the sequel to the original LostWinds, LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias. Priced at 1000 Wii Points and appearing on WiiWare, the game appears to capitalize on what the original did so well. Domos are not confirmed in this little treat however, so we’re forced to deal for now until an update comes along.

Joining Melodias on Wiiware is Hudson Entertainment’s 500 Wii Point shooter, Shootanto: Evolutionary Mayhem. The title, we believe, says it all. Clever naming.

And finally, for those with a taste for retro, RYGAR (all caps means business) has come to the Virtual Console for 600 Wii Points. If you've never played this before, then prepare to have your mind blown.

As always, hit the break to read the descriptions for the games and don’t forget to tell us what the fug you’re downloading. We like to hear these things.
LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias
Publisher: FRONTIER
Players: 1
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone) – Mild Fantasy Violence
Price: 1,000 Wii Points™
Description: LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias is a sequel to the award-winning WiiWare launch title LostWinds. Enril the Wind Spirit returns to protect and guide young Toku by powering his jumps, aiding his glides and smashing his enemies. An evil adversary binds the fate of Toku’s mother, Magdi, and the ancient Melodia civilization. To save Magdi, Toku and Enril must face new foes, enlist friends old and new, and wield incredible new powers – including the ability to switch the very seasons themselves – as they explore the diverse, richly interactive Chilling Peaks and Melodia City areas of the magical land of Mistralis. This enchanting, exhilarating, explorative game play experience is bursting with new ideas that make exceptional use of the Wii Remote™ controller. The awesome power of the Wind is back in the palm of your hand.

Shootanto: Evolutionary Mayhem
Publisher: Hudson Entertainment
Players: 1-2
ESRB Rating: E10+ (Everyone 10 and Older) – Crude Humor, Mild Fantasy Violence, Suggestive Themes
Price: 500 Wii Points
Description: Battle for the future in a world governed by the law of the jungle. As you move through the stages, your character evolves and your weapons and shooting abilities change. First, throw weapons by hand, then proceed to use tools and different types of projectiles. A cooperative two-player mode is also available. The controls are simple: Move the character with the control stick, adjust the crosshairs with the Wii Remote controller and shoot down targets while dodging enemy attacks. Getting hit by an enemy bullet or touching an enemy close to you will count as a miss. With each miss, you’ll lose one heart; losing all hearts will end the game.

Pro-Putt Domo™

Appearing at arcades in 1986 as a side-scrolling action game, RYGAR received high acclaim for its beautifully rendered graphics, including waterfalls and a setting sun. As extra features, players can collect the five Powers of Indra to obtain special bonuses or gain 1,000,000 bonus points for finding hidden items. Also, the number of lives and the level of difficulty can be altered.

The Domo games are tempting, but they all sound really terrible.

That pinball one from last week is totally pro, by the way. If anyone was on the fence about that, go pick it up.

Looks to be another really good week, this week. The Domo games looked pretty cool from what they showed off of them at E3 and we already know that LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias is awesome, just from the first game. Plus its already averaging a 89% on Metacritic right now. Don't know much about Shootanto: Evolutionary Mayhem though, but Hudson usually bring good stuff to WiiWare, so it could be another sleeper hit to come out of nowhere.

Ah you might want to count them again, there's actually 5 Domo games. You missed White-Water Domo.

I'm a sucker for mini golf of any kind, so I'll probably check out that Domo at least.

RYGAR!!!!!

One step closer to playing my entire pre-Wii collection on the Wii!

Let's see... what's left...

Legacy of the Wizard... Blaster Master... Deadly Towers...

What this ?!? WAIT! Arcade version?? NOOOOOOOO!!!

Dear Nintendo,

I know you want to push your arcade VC library, but this was almost a bait and switch. I could have easily dropped my 600 points in my excitement, and missed the highly critical ARCADE detail! Nintendo releases a VC Rygar, and it's NOT the NES version?? Why not release both versions at the same time so we can choose?

On second thought, you should focus your efforts on the C64 version of Altered Beast. That's more important. We need a third version of that game that's still not the NES version.

Damn, if I wasn't so poor, I would totally download Lost Winds 2. I didn't realize it was coming out this week!
