Nintendo DLC Update: Dragon Quest: Wars and Altered Beast photo

It’s Monday and that means more stuff is hitting Nintendo’s various digital distribution services. Prepare for the below.

Looking forward to looking backward again this week on WiiWare with the release ARKANOID Plus (600 Wii Points). Handled by Taito, this is promised to be an updated version of the classic arcade title. With a new VS and Time Attack mode, who are we to argue with such a bold statement. On an unrelated note, DRiift Mania (800 Wii Points) is happening on WiiWare as well.

DSiWare will see two new titles as well. The first of which is Art Academy: Second Semester (800 DSi Points). According to the official release, it has a “larger set of tools and in-depth lessons designed to encourage” more “complex artwork.” The second release is Dragon Quest: Wars (500 DSi bones), a strategy title featuring monsters from the series.

On a final note, Altered Beast (1000 Wii Points) is happening on Virtual Console. You’ll have to excuse us now. We have an evil scheme to stop … as a werewolf-dragon.

I wonder if the Altered Beast is the arcade(ugh, barf) version that was recently released on XBLA, or the better Genesis version.

Hold on one second. Didn't Altered Beast already come out on the Virtual Console? And does the 1000 point price tag mean that it's the arcade version?

Wait a tic, didn't Altered Beast get re-released like three times already?

Dragon Quest Wars is out already? I didn't think that was coming out for a while yet. Guess it's time to spend my other 500 points from buying a DSi.

And charging $10 for Altered Beast should be punishable by jailtime.

Dude, I just got a bunch of Amazon gift cards. With Dragon Quest Wars coming out today, I'm really tempted to use some of that money to buy a DSi

I'm beginning to become more and more irritated at the Virtual Console...
$10 for Altered Beast? Are you kidding me? Are they outta their skull?! I'm actually one of the few people that like that game(mainly for nostalgic reason), yet I believe charging ten bucks is absurd.
The lack of games is astonishing...
Virtual Console. Shape the hell up, please. And be quick about it!
