Too bad about the eShop, though. Got KI:3D with KI:U so there's no point in blowing money on it.
PS: You're still awesome Dale
Seriously, though, it amazed me how true to the original Uprising was (Love them both, by the way. Awesome games.). Now if only the GB KI would come over.
That's because Nintendo games actually retain some of their value.
In some places, USED copies of pokemon games cost the same if not more then new ones.
The controls take a little getting used to, but they're not bad at all (especially considering you have nearly full control over button assignments). I find it a little painful to play more than a level or two at a time, which sucks, but I tend to fight through the pain anyway.
Uprising is just oozing with stuff to unlock (just like my other two favorite Sakurai games, Meteos and Kirby Air Ride), multiplayer is fun with friends, I've spent hours just fusing weapons alone, and dialogue throughout the levels still makes me laugh every time I replay them. Seriously, this game is like Adventure Time in the sky.
And that's all before I gush about the awesome music, insane graphics (there are some parts that I couldn't believe I was seeing on a Nintendo handheld), and crazy attention to detail (I've put something like 40 hours in so far and I'm STILL finding new easter eggs).
While I enjoyed Mario Kart 7 as well, I did agree mostly with the Destructoid's review. Kid Icarus Uprising, however, is the only must own title for the 3DS so far. Once you get past the learning curve, it's phenomenal.
But if you're one of the game critics out there that whines about a lack of originality in the industry and how all games use the same control setup, then it's a bit hypocritical to turn around and say this game has poor controls.
Whatever, I freaking love the game and am still playing the shit out of it.
That game is one game I can say that I always want to have, but will never come close to beating. Maybe I will this time around, but thats probably a pipe dream.
Kirby 3D classics is really good, if you haven't gotten that go get it. It's almost as if it's gotten better with age, 3D effects are subtle, but neat.
The original Kid Icarus may not be an amazing game by today's standards, but at the time of its release(1986, Japan) it certainly was ahead of its time. I recently just bought and beat the new 3D Classics version in one quick sitting( a few hours), with the 3D cranked high... It was a fun, nostalgic trip through Angel Land. The added background visuals are a nice addition, too. And, for whatever reason, I can never, ever tire of the Kid Icarus theme music. Enjoy. =)
Also, screw you Eggplant Wizard. You purple, sanctimonious bastard.
That why you use auto-lock man. Every weapon I use has to have some kind of auto locking ability makes the game way easier.
Well yeah, because the GREAT one just came out and is far too large of a download. One day Uprising will be downloadable though. So just be patient, Dale!
:P
Seriously don't understand why you's guys gave it such a mediocre review. By far my favorite 3DS game. I hope one day you can see it for the greatness that it is.
