Nintendo DLC: BIT.TRIP.CORE, more Art Style, chariot racing photo

So it looks like BIT.TRIP.CORE (1-2 players, 600 Wii Points) from the fine folks at Gaijin Games marks the 100th game to hit WiiWare. Really, you couldn't pick a better game to commemorate the event, as BIT.TRIP.CORE. represents exactly the type of games we wanted to see on WiiWare -- original, risk-taking titles you don’t often see on consoles.

On the other end of the WiiWare spectrum today, you’ve got BUST-A-MOVE Plus! (1-2 players, 600 Wii Points), which may be the hundredth version of the game to hit any platform. Interesting, the game itself will feature 135 single player stages, but publisher TAITO is offering two add-on packs you can purchase, which will add 270 extra stages. Cue people upset about not buying a complete game… now!

Neko Entertainment’s Heracles Chariot Racing (1-4 players, 800 Wii Points) is exactly what it sounds like, as someone has finally been able to make a “kart racer” using characters from Greek Mythology. In what may be the closest thing to “God of War Kart” we’ll ever see (without the violence, of course), you’ll be able to race chariots around Mount Olympus, using power-ups like tridents and Zeus’s lightning rods.

DSiWare gets another Art Style game, Art Style: BASE 10 (1-2 players, 500 Points). Like all of the other Art Style games, it will likely be a simple, beautiful, and elegant gaming experience well worth your cash. But if you’re looking for something a little more straight forward, Gameloft’s Asphalt 4: Elite Racing (1-4 players, 800 Points), may be up your alley. It’s a racing game. You race cars. On a road.

Finally, Virtual Console sees the Commodore 64 version of California Games (1-5 players, 500 Wii Points)… dude. Or bro. Or whatever it was people on the beaches of California said in the 80s.

Since I already have Bubble Bobble, then I'll just get Bit.Trip. Core especially if its as good as Bit.Trip. Beat.

I was really hoping for NyxQuest to be released this week though.

Oh I misread the title. It's Bust-A- move, well now that's a horse of a different color. Count me in!

I'll download Bit Trip Core one of these days...specifically the one where I finally beat Bit Trip Beat.

Do you mean "you couldn't pick a better game to commemorate the event?"

Seems like it fits better with the praise you give the game.

Horray for Bit Trip Core. I'll think I'll play it again in honor of the 100th Wiiware title.

Umm, Nick, don't you mean "you couldn't pick a better game to commemorate the event"? Because otherwise, it makes no sense ;)

Were it the NES version of California Games 2, I'd be all over it.

But I'll probably grab Bit.trip Core.

Bir.Trip Core is as awesome and challenging as Beat was. Heartily worth you 600 points.
