not really, it looks more of a gamecube, the placement of analog stick is like the PS2.
though the shape of the controller does look like a xbox controller.
kinda wish they should have made this like Gamecube controller with same placement, but bigger analog stick and face buttons, with L1 button as well as R3 and L3.
oh well at least we can play games controller style, let's just hope nintendo and other developers used this, instead of turning into a classic controller with little to no support besides a few games and VC ones.
However, I'd heard several members of the gaming press say that even the prototype Wii U controller was comfortable, and Iwata showed how they had made the final design of the GamePad even more comfortable, so hopefully the GamePad will be more than sufficient for most games (especially since I'm guessing any major first-party game will incorporate some level of mandatory touch functionality).
Replace the home Button with the giant X and you have a 360 controller.
Not that all the other stuff they showed wasn't equally retarded. But I'm guessing we're gonna get different newsposts for that.
The 360 controller is a great design, it only makes sense for Nintendo to offer a similar option.
I loved what they showed of the WiiU, looks like it will feature a much fuller online network experience than the Wii (or PS3)
currently offers!
Can't wait to see more!
But I don't care. Nintendo has just shown us the first (potentially) good controller they've made since the SNES. Good for them. I don't really care if apes from the 360 pad. The OG Xbox controller *blatantly* ripped off the Dremcast controller. Plus this thing looks like it has a built in battery and is hooked up via standard USB, a la the PS3 controller, which already makes it better in my books.
Combine that with the confirmation of the fixed Wii U tablet controls, and I gotta commend Nintendo for finally listening to consumers.
I laughed so hard when he said the "regardless of time and space" thing. Glad I wasn't alone in that.
Overall, a very interesting presentation. Can't wait for Tuesday!
In the Miiverse people assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect but actually from a non-linear non-subjective view point its more like a big ball of Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey...Stuff
I'm kind of excited.
So what, can I receive messages from my future self, warning me not to buy certain games or what?
