It took them awhile to get around to announcing it in English, but Nintendo has finally revealed Kirby Super Star Ultra for the Nintendo DS.
A remake of the popular Super Nintendo game Kirby Super Star, Ultra re-imagines the title with new graphics and fully-rendered animated cut scenes. The original title boasted "8 games in one," like "The Great Cave Offensive" and "Revenge of Meta Knight," each of which stayed close to Kirby's platforming roots. The DS title will features new modes ("Revenge of the King" and "Meta Knight Ultra"), as well as three new touch-screen multiplayer mini-games that can be shared via DS download play.
Kirby Super Star Ultra hits shelves on September 29, 2008.

Was the SNES game good or is it just a bunch of mini games?
My interest in Kirby games is very fickle. I just want a platforming 2D game involving me killing baddies with new abilities to steal. A lot of Kirby games just look like complete nonsense though. Am I wrong?
Kirby Super Star is among the top three side-scrollers/platformers ever made, I swear to god. KSS is everything Super Smash Bros. Brawl's Sub-Space Emissary wanted to be in terms of game design, and KSS itself was the prototype and outright forerunner to Super Smash Bros.--just take a look around online and you'll see startling revelations as to just how much SSB took from Super Star.
If you like enjoy video games in any way, you must give Kirby Super Star a try; there really isn't any other way for me to put it.
