Now I can finally OWN super mario galaxy 1 and 2, new super mario bros, super smash bros, donkey kong country returns, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Silent hill: SM, Red Steel 2, and No More Heroes 1 and 2. Yippee!!!
Just saying.
I got super excited by the 3DS E3 presentation last year. Honestly, it's going to take a lot for Nintendo to get me excited this time.
Also, idk if I'mm be jumping on this at launch. After just getting a 3DS, I'm not sure if I feel the need for a new console. But hey, maybe whatever thing they've got cooked up this time will blow me out of the water, kind of like how motion control and touch screens did. :p
Seems like a awful rash decision to be making now, considering that you haven't seen one single game for the system yet, or the system itself either, for that matter. Personally I would wait until after E3, to make a decision like that, but whatever, to each his own I guess.
Have a sucky one, and I'll probably stick with my current consoles for a while (and maybe get a 3DS instead).
We're at a shaky economic place, and Sony and Microsoft seem content to sit on a rather long console cycle a few more years. The 3DS just dropped, and frankly that needs some attention in terms of updates and software in a big way. Outside of hand-helds, Nintendo has cultivated a rather casual audience who seem to be still happy with Wii. Added in, Nintendo has long made odd choices in the console hardware market.
I'm not sure there is a big enough 'Nintendo only' audience to make multi-platform publishers salivating for another console to program for. I have a feeling Nintendo will really have to work to bring back a sizable 'hardcore' gaming audience. Lot's of first party support, some big IP's from 3rd parties. This just seems an odd time (shaky $$$ environment) to jump in that game.
I've owned Nintendo hardware since the original NES, but at this point I'd prefer them focusing on my new $250 3DS, which is currently collecting dust.

Optional motion would be amazing. I have nothing against it, but I prefer regular stick and button schemes SO much more.
Also, this sounds amazing. As long as there is backward compatibility (Nintendo always does this, so I'm not worried) and awesome launch games, count me in. Seriously looking forward to what they have to show us.
How many devs are going to want to jump aboard another nintendo system when they know the other, profitable systems are due for upgrade?
This console can be more powerful than any console currently available but if it's only got 4 decent games (like my wii) then it won't be enough to warrant my purchase.
