In a press release issued today, Nintendo has confirmed that it will be holding a press conference at this year’s E3.
The event -- which takes place at Los Angeles’ Club Nokia on Tuesday, June 2 -- will focus on “information about upcoming products.” The release also mentions growth of the Wii and record-breaking DS sales, which means that 30 minutes of the media briefing will likely be Nintendo patting itself on the back; we are bracing ourselves for this.
Speaking will be all of the usual suspects -- Satoru Iwata, Reggie Fils-Aime, and Cammie Dunaway. The briefing kicks off at 9 o’clock in the morning Pacific time, but doors open to the media at a outlandish 7:30 am, also known as the “crack of effin’ dawn.” While this is normally unacceptable, we're bringin a rooster with us to Los Angeles to wake us up. Expect the usual live blog, images, and news as it breaks.

Isn't Microsoft's Press Conference at 10:00AM on Monday? So I doubt a hour earlier is all that big of a deal. Nintendo goes so early, because Sony still has to go after them a couple of hours later. Its kind of stupid that they have them on two different days anyway. They should just all be on Monday, one in the morning, one is the afternoon and one at night, then start the show floor up on Tuesday morning.
Golden Sun, Advance Wars, Kid Icarus,new IP, Pikmin, anything other than Maro/Zelda. Metroid, too, might be overdone, but I'm always down for a new sidescroller.
That would really just kill an entire day, and wouldn't give anyone in attendance to walk the floor. . . like at all. But I can see where you're coming from.
Hopefully Nintendo doesn't suck ass again.
No I mean they should have all the Press Conference's on Monday only, so then people would have all Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to walk the show floor. Then people wouldn't complain that Microsoft, and Nintendo are to early in the morning for them.
