Japanese rag Famitsu has detailed Nintendo's May update to the Nintendo 3DS, which will finally bring the 3DS eShop -- well over a month after the system's launch. How nice of Nintendo to grant us this favor.
As well as the eShop, the 3DS will be able to transfer DSiWare from older systems, so those of you who worried that you'll lose your Animal Crossing Clock can rest easy!
As far as the games go, here's what'll be available, at least in Japan, at launch:
- 3DS Ware -- Rockman Dash, Peticom
- 3D Classic -- Excitebike, Legend of Zelda, Xevious
- Virtual GameBoy -- Ikari no Yousai, Phantasm
- Virtual Game Gear -- Sonic & Tails 2, Sonic Drift 2, Dragon Crystal, Columns
- Virtual GameBoy Color -- Super Mario Land, The Legend of Zelda DX (demo)
- Virtual PC -- TBA
- Demos -- 3D Video Player, 3D Trailer/Preview Channel, Fuji TV & Nippon TV Previews
This is the stuff I'm really interested in seeing, so I can't wait to see what we get in the West. Here's hoping Nintendo doesn't stuff this up, because I'd be willing to drop quite a few dollars on some classic games.

Are they seriously only going to give us a demo of Link's Awakening?!
I take it virtual PC is PC-Engine and not DOS games, though.

The biggest thing I care about is whether Legend of Zelda DX is the full game, or the demo as described.

It's Nintendo, demos aren't available by default and I doubt they'd cocktease us with a demo of a 20 year old game.

Do you have a Japanese 3DS? Because I doubt that we'll be getting the same exact launch line-up, as Japan anyway. So if nothing there interest you, don't worry about it, because it probably won't be the same for us in North America, or Europe either, for that matter!
All the GB games will be emulated on GBC hardware, so you'll get some colour that isn't green and black.
They should be mailing that letter to Nintendo of Japan. I doubt Reggie Fils-Aime has as much power as they think he does.
In the very least, you could remake VB's Mario Clash and Wario Land. Both were awesome, and obviously not too many people got to experience them.
Well, at least SOMETHING related to Mega Man Legends 3 will finally be here.
Especially if it is anything like that 3DS music visualizer...
