Ninjatown DS demo is out on the Nintendo Channel photo

We're a little excited about the upcoming release of Ninjatown DS around here, as you may have guessed from our pimp Ninjatown lunchbox giveaway. If you are still unconvinced that ninja strategy sounds like fun, you can check out a demo of the game over on the Nintendo Channel.

The demo lets you check out the first six maps of the game (there are 36 in the full version), fight some Wee Devils and check out abilities. If you have a Wii, just turn it on and go to the Nintendo Channel to enable the demo and then you can download it into your DS. I'm a big fan of free samples, so I'm off to check it out shortly. More DS demos please, Nintendo!

Ninjatown Demo Available For Download Now On Nintendo Channel

SouthPeak's Ninjatown is just a week away, but for gamers who don't want to wait, the demo is now available as a free download via the Nintendo Channel (in North America) on Wii. Assume the role of Ol' Master Ninja and lead your Ninja troops against the invading Wee Devils in an all-out battle to determine the fate of Ninjatown.

The demo of Ninjatown includes the first six maps from the game. Players
can get a glimpse at the level of depth and strategy in the game as they
fight against the Wee Devils with just a sampling of the Ninjas and
special abilities. In the full retail version of the game, there will be
a total of thirty-six maps, and over a dozen abilities and tokens to
unleash on Mr. Demon and the evil masses.

For those who don't know, the process to download the Ninjatown demo is
simple: First make sure you are opted in on your Wii to send data to
Nintendo, then select the demo from the Ninjatown info page on Nintendo
Channel, and the Wii will instruct you to turn on your DS and select
"Download Play" from the system menu.

Players can also visit http://create.ninjatown.com
<http://create.ninjatown.com/>  to create their own Ninjas with the Wee
Ninjatron, which can then be shared with their friends via Facebook,
MySpace and more. Ninjatown is rated E for Everyone.

I'll get it if my Wii doesn't get bitchy trying to connect, I played a demo at PAX and thought it was fun but too easy, I really hope different maps are more difficult than the one I played.

I tried the demo, and it was enjoyable. However, it was kind of on the easy side. It is a piece of cake to make the anti-ninja's, upgrade them, and watch them demolish everything but the airborne dudes.

The writing was funny, and it even referenced the "over 9000" meme at one point.

I honestly cannot remember if it had music.

The presentation was simple, but that is not a negative connotation. There was not obtrusive clutter or anything like that.

The UI proved kind of tricky, though. My RTS or just desktop tower defense is to click outside of a menu screen to leave it. However, you have to manually back out of it here to get back to directing the troops or selecting another hut.

Soooo, kind of interested overall, yet kinda not.

I'd spend $20 on this game, but I feel like it's too short at only 36 levels.
