Shocker: Heavenly Sword developer Ninja Theory are working on a new title. OK, so while it's not shocking, it has been confirmed in an update to the company's official Web site.

"Right now we're working on an exciting new concept that has got everyone we talk to buzzing," the Ninja Theory team posted. "We can't say a lot except that it's going to be great to work on and should be even better to play!"

They go on to say that everything the team loved about Heavenly Sword will be made bigger and better. To me, this hints that the title will not be a direct sequel to Heavenly Sword, and rumors I've heard also point in this direction. Frustratingly, they say nothing more about the "new concept," but they've certainly caught our attention.

Scattered across their site is what appears to be concept art for their next title, all of which I've posted in our gallery below.

I gotta admit, I'm intrigued. The concept art is interesting and while I still have not played Heavenly Sword, it looks like it has some interesting ideas.

@Bob Arctor:

Heavenly Sword wasn't too bad, the only problem was that it felt too much like a God of War ripoff. It was a decent game when compared to the other PS3 games out at the time.

It's not really much of a new concept if it's "Heavenly Sword... But BETTER".

Maybe they should make a truely great game before teasing people with promises like this. The screenshots do look semi-interesting though.

We may not see another Heavenly Sword (I haven;'t played the game) since they are working on this. It's always nice to see a new IP though.

The screens look interesting, but this game appears to suffer from the brown/gray color palette that has plagued half of the games this generation.

You know what would be REALLY crazy? If they teamed up with Disney to do some crazy-ass game or something. That would kick ass... probably...

Heavenly Sword was actually an EXCELLENT game for the whole 5 hours it took to beat it. It also was way too easy and they should have made the hardest difficulty an option from the start. The story and gameplay was perfect though.

Heavenly Sword was fail for being so damn short and because the combo system was useless. It came down to button mashing. It's an average game that's put slightly above average because it's got beautiful graphics, awesome presentation on the whole, and those amazingly cool crossbow sections with the SIXAXIS. So if it's going to be more of the same, but a lot more, I'll pass. Heavenly Sword would have been a waste of money if I hadn't gotten it for free.

From the look, I'm going to guess it will be called Heavenly Gun.

I've finally realized that cool concept art does not translate into a cool game. Thus, I'm hesitant.

I always love it when developers vomit a bunch of vague, empty, cliche`s and then expect everyone to get excited about it. Especially after the money I wasted on Heavenly Sword.
