Ninja Theory's Enslaved is gold, coming October 5 photo

Hey everyone, Ninja Theory's Enslaved: Odyssey to the West has gone gold. That's right, it's done, which means it'll be good to go for its previously announced October 5 release.

Enslaved is Ninja Theory's multi-platform (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) follow-up to the PS3-exclusive Heavenly Sword. Our gamescom team loved it. Like, would not stop talking about it "loved it." I'm playing it now, and I'm not allowed to say anything until next week. But, I completely and totally… wait, nevermind. I'll save it for my preview next week; embargoes and such.

Now that Enslaved is done, Ninja Theory can really get to cracking on Devil May Cry 5, right? Right?

Wait when you say it's their follow-up to Heavenly Sword do you mean that this is a sequel or set in the same universe?

Hey Nick, if you like Enslaved, just give me a little tap on the fanny.

Looking forward to this. Heavenly sword was great but short and had the pointless motion controls(although relatively fun)

Still haven't decided if this or Castlevania gets priority...and then Vanquish a week or so after? It's not even fair.

It's on pre-order from Amazon. They had it for $56.99 ($3 off, wooo!) a few days ago. They also updated with release-date delivery. Can't wait for Enslaved!

I wonder what was the leading platform.. I hope it was the PS3 cause Heavenly Sword was a very beautiful game!

Is it that good, Nick? Like, "buy-able good, or, rent-it-and-finish-it-in-three sittings good? I know you can't say anything, just leave a smiley face or something ;)

I'm praying that the action isn't taken out of my hands with QTE's, as it was in Heavenly Sword.

I really really want to pre-order this, but something is telling me not to. I'm gonna have to wait and see I suppose.

@smerff:

Me too, I've got a feeling it will be a rental, like heavenly sword was.....I bought Metroid other M (Amazon gave me a $20 credit, so it was a good deal), got it on tuesday and finished it with 100% last night, its a great game, but i probably could of rented it and saved forty bucks..... I think enslaved will be a great experience, but as far as dropping 60 bucks, not sure either....think I'm gonna hold off on preorder til I see some reviews...

@JQM78: you mean saved 30$ right? Or you really got a raw deal.

Man, Enslaved, vanquish and castlevania all in the same month. Decisions...Decisions

@gol D roger:

I paid 50 for other M, and got a $20 credit towards my next purchase....

Yes, a good time to be a gamer....and a Gamefly subscriber also....no point in buying all those games when most of them will be finished in 6-10 hours, except for, maybe, castlevania, I give that one close to 20.

I like to buy games and build up a collection, and also support the developer in the process.

Gamefly has blow for the last few years. I wouldn't give them any of my money.

I "tried" to comment on. " It's a great game, but I probably could have rented it and saved forty bucks" but nevermind haha.

Yeah, that's some unreasonably ugly character design.

@raidenfan:

For some people, thats cool, I just cant see spending $60 on a game I'll play once and then have it sit there collecting dust.....then again, I do have alot of games, but I usually purchase them after they have been out a while and I can get them on the cheap, I have a collection too, but I only keep the classics, like Ico, SoTC, Okami, Castlevania(s) and Metroid(s).

Really didn't care for much of heavenly sword & now this next game seems (from what I've seen of the footage of it) being a huge escort mission all the way through. Pass.

You rental people do know about this thing called eBay, right? I've bought a few games in the past that I ended up selling a week or two later for all of $10 less than I bought them for (sometimes $5 less), so it's not exactly a big financial risk.

If the game is worth replaying, hold onto it. If not, just eBay it.

@lastdual:

I've sold plenty of games on ebay, I once sold my used "like new" copy of new super mario bros Wii for $53!!! to some guy (I swear, when some people get in bidding wars, they seem to forget that you can buy these games new for the same price!)....

I sold metal gear peace walker for $42 (like new). Ebay is great, but you have to get it on there quick (within the month it releases to get back close to what you paid for it....but you probably know that, since youre using the same method I am.....however, with the rental, it saves me the time of putting it on ebay, waiting for it to sell, and shipping it out quickly.....I will still use both methods, since getting some games on rental is not a guaranteed thing since alot of them are rented out quickly when they are new releases.....

@fox01313:

I agree, as great as a contribution to gaming ICO was, it got annoying trying to escort that girl Yorda all over the place....that's one thing that puts me off on some games....having to babysit some totally dumb A.I. character can really drag down a games momentum....
