Set to drop at the end of September for PS3 is Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Tecmo's latest. If you're hot for that, you'll probably be hot for the limited cooperative action to be included in the game.
We say "limited" because you'll only do the co-op thing in special missions. Watch in our video below as Ryu is joined by Momiji for an example of this. Because of the crazy-assed dynamic camera of NGS2, poor Momiji is left playing caught up. Seriously: you don't even see her half the time. Oh, and she dies and has to be revived mid-battle. Of course, dying is nothing new to Ninja Gaiden.
Stick around past the halfway point and you'll witness an epic battle with an over-the-top co-op magic attack. This all looks great, save for the stupidly long loading time early in the video.

Remember when Resident Evil was about exploring abandoned buildings, static cameras, limited ammo, and not 3rd person shooter action?
Oh, how times have changed.
Frankly, I prefer the changes to NG than what RE has turned into.
The more I see it, the less the lack of blood bothers me.
What DOES bother me is how bad that Ryu player sucks ass. Jesus christ I may not be anywhere close to the best at the game but come the fuck on!
But yeah, I'm excited for the game. I like the reviving of your partner, and the shared life and all. Shared Ninpo looks like an auto-hit. Hopefully no more controller-shaking.
Half ass Co-Op will not cut it with this series. Also how in the hell is the camera gonna track 2 people, its bad enough with 1. I stopped thinking about buying it when they removed the gore and gave some half ass answer about the reason why.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Was that player's partner someone from GameTrailers?
I think the video contained more dying than action... still I'm looking forward to this for the single player experience.

I'd like you see you beat the 2nd mission just "hack n slashin".
The gameplay isn't that simple or easy.
It's NOT full coop.
Anyway this looks badass. I loved Ninja Gaiden II almost as much as I, which says a lot. I really dig the Elizabet dual flanking boss battle!
Dale: Is split-screen possible?
I'm looking forward to it but hopefully they learn how to do a gameplay video
