Great, online passes for another single player game. Guess I won't need to play it.

I always thought this series had been wank from the beginning, though. NES trilogy was better.

Apparently this has a multiplayer made, which doesn't make any sense to me. Of course, multiplayer mades have been great for justifying Online Passes (Bioshock 2, Dead Space 2), but still.

Well IGN gave it a 3 I think? Now I'm really wondering what Jim's going to give it, and they pull this online pass shit on us.

@Adamski - While I think Online passes suck, when it prevents you from playing the single player that's a problem.

An online pass for a single player game about a ninja who flips out and kills people? What kind of multiplayer mode could this even have? The words "tacked on" and "bullshit" come to mind, as well as "worthless."

I think I would kill for an original Trilogy HD Remake. I mean, the games are still beautiful today... but image it in glorious HD. Everyone would hate them because game players are blathering vagina's today. "BAWWWW ITS 2012 MAKE THESE GAMES EASIER FOR A NEW CROWD."
And the Tecmo can issue a statement saying: "No, go fuck yourself."

Nah. It'd just end up looking sterile and soulless like all the other 2D HD remakes. Maybe if it was done in a Retro City Rampage style...

So...I'm not a huge IGN review enthusiast but a couple things stuck out. One, monotonous button mashing is all you need to win. I count on the Ninja Gaiden games to give me fun, challenging and varied action so if a reviewer is saying it's too easy then...:(. Two, No Dismemberment? askjdkdjaskjaldjsadskajdlsk. Why would they take something like that out? I loved how enemies had different behaviors pending how many limbs they had. When a guy with no limbs killed me through a suicide explosive kunai I thought, "Well that was some fucking awesome bullshit." Add this to them jumping on the online pass/tacked-on multi bandwagon makes me a very sad panda.

With no review or experience playing the game I can say with 100% certainty the online is terrible, because logic. /sarcasm

Those modes sound so waste of time and side-modey. Unless they're forced into the spotlight, why bother talking about them in any capacity other than a "they exist, they aren't terrible, you can do them if you really wanted." Not to burn anybody that really wants to play this with multiplayer, but it is Ninja Gaiden, a singleplay game about a ninja, who flips out and kills people.

I won't be buying this than. I hate online passes.

Black was my favorite. 2 was a huge letdown to me and this won't even get a bargain bin purchase, due to the pass and changes. Oh well, there's other shit to play.

As a longtime fan of the Ninja Gaiden series, and proud conquerer of the latest entries, I could tell months ago this game was going to be crap.

I found it hilarious that IGN gave it a 3. Also sad, that such a great series could fall that far. We still got Devil's Third though!

Yes, developers devote millions in resources to tack on multi just so publishers can add online passes to make an additional 10 dollars, and only off second hand copies. You figured it out! ESPECIALLY Bioshock 2 which had no online pass. IT'S GENIUS I SAY!

For any Master Ninja level player of NG1 & 2, this third installment is an abortion that somehow survived to shit all over its mom, before exploding in her face, taking out the whole delivery room with it.

NG is one of my all time favorite series, so I'll probably end up buying this either way. From the reviews I've read, it sounds like most of the game's problems can be fixed by playing it at a higher difficulty *crosses fingers*.

I hope Jim burns this game to the ground and gives it a 1. I think they are pulling a Final Fantasy "we dont think we suck thing" with their shit. Well (new)Team Ninja hasn't done anything to prove to me that they DON'T suck.

I'm so disappointed with the reviews I've seen of this game that I feel like punching something lol. Damn and I thought this was the year of the hack & slash genre, what a disappointment.

Oh well I guess DmC will be the savior of the genre........and that's not saying much.

This is the biggest disappointment I've ever experienced when it comes to gaming. Ninja Gaiden has always been one of my favorite games because of the tight controls and insane, yet fair, difficulty. I felt like a boss when I'd clear a room of enemies without taking damage, because I knew that it wasn't dumb luck. It was skill from hours and hours of practice. And now you're telling me they traded the heart of the gameplay for button mashing, QTE's, no dismemberment, and only one weapon?

Yosuke, listen as hard as you can: Go fuck yourself raw.

Because Jim just accidently ate their pass and now they have to wait for a new one.

I just say they fucked up on the third one. the first two were my favorite games on ps3 but the third is probably my less favorite. there are no treasue chest to find, no mutible weapon you just get a new sword which is the exact same thing as the one before. Your life automaticly fills up, nothing to help life on bosses. Ryu injured has to slow down and doesn't make any sense the enemies slow down too. Boss kills you, you start again half way through the fight with full life which means you accomplished nothing. No shops, no special spells like the first two, and again you only get new sword all with the same move. In the first two the new weapons were the best part. Just because a guy's a ninja doesn't mean sword. There were four ninja turtles and they all had different weapon.
