Ninja Blade is coming to PC ... uh, hooray? photo

If there was one console-exclusive videogame that PC gamers have been dying to play more than anything else, it's got to be Ninja Blade. Thankfully, the port we've been longing for is indeed happening. Yes sir, we will finally be able to relive the quick time event magic in October when the game ships.

The port is being handled by ND Games, the same guys who brought Dark Sector from consoles over to PC. On a slightly more serious note -- but not really -- the press release has "free movement in all directions" as a bullet point for Ninja Blade.

My question, I guess, is how do you have an action game without free movement in all directions? Has it be done? Can it be done? These questions won't go unanswered.

Hell I'll give it a try. It's odd that these are the same people that made Demons Souls. Maybe they hate ninjas?

Ah, nice. I kinda had my eye on this game, but it's nothing that I'd buy an Xbox 360 for. Since it's coming to PC, though, I'll probably give it a shot.

not a surprise. Otaku tend to play PC games more than 360 games so its probably expanding to a bigger market.

I didn't think it was a bad game at all. The QTE-fest that it was, at least added a little something to the whole QTE table, not much but it wasn't just a bland press Y once every 5 seconds while the game played itself. Though I hated not focusing on the insane boss fight going on behind that big round button.

I picked this up for $10 at Target on clearance a few months ago... I'd say go for it if its released under $20, the fighting isn't bad, and while there is a lot of QTE's there is still a ton of decent hack-slash-magic stuff going on.

Free movement in all directions? Does that include up and down? Is this a game about flying ninjas?

I have it on 360, I'm not feeling betrayed or angry but it's hilarious that the "only on xbox360" tag from the game cover is losing its meaning.I also have a Mass Effect game with "only on xbox360" tag and it's true that at that time it's only on xbox360.

But from now on it should be like "only on xbox360 for now, lol" or "only one xbox360,we think" or "only on xbox360 before we release it on another platform".

I also lol'd when I saw an old review of Ninja Gaiden 2 from IGN which said "PS3 owners must be crying" or something.

Hmmm, looks interesting. I would be much more interested in a PC port of Demon's Souls, however.

The PC version of Dark Sector is riddled with bugs, and there are no patches or plans to patch it. It cannot handle widescreen resolutions AT ALL, the game often stutters for no reason and it looks worse than the console versions.

I wouldn't expect this game to be of any higher quality than that if they are doing the port for it.

Actually, action games without free movement have been done, a LOT actually - they're called on-rails shooters ;) The one I thought of specifically was Killer 7.

Also, isn't it ironic the free movement wasn't advertised on the Xbox 360?
