Ninja Blade demo announced for Japan. Hope they like QTEs photo

If you are one of the three people interested in From Software's Ninja Blade, you'll be keen to learn that a demo has been announced. It's only for Japanese Xbox Live members at the moment, but a demo for we filthy round eyes is sure to be imminent.

Set to launch on December 29, the demo will comprise of what looks like the section I played in Tokyo, feating thirty seconds of action spliced with five minutes of barely interactive quick-time-events.

This is not a blend that left me feeling wholly impressed at TGS. I don't mind QTEs, but there is the right way of doing it, and the wrong way of doing it. Ninja Blade exemplifies the wrong way, relying on QTEs to completely replace any sort of thrilling interaction with the game. Perhaps things have changed between October and now, but somehow, I doubt it.

The action is solid, but unless Ninja Blade can make at least 10% of the awesome stuff we see in the QTE scenes a part of real gameplay, it won't stand out at all.

Yes, because an action game starring a ninja full of QTEs is different.

Fucking avatarless morons bashing every post I make because they don't understand reality.

Ha ha, David's comment is more funny than the idea of From releasing anything I'm even remotely interested in.

I just think that maybe trolls ought not to call me out for sharing an opinion on a game I've actually played and that they have not.

Tenchu Z was the RIGHT way to make a Ninja game, despite the sub par graphics and lack of story. I don't care what the reviews say, it was one of the most purely fun games I've ever played on 360, so for From Software to go from that to this (i.e. all graphics, no gameplay) is a complete u-turn and one that will probably suck complete balls.

Though I can't remember if From just published Z or developed it... Probably the former, hence my argument is pretty much invalidated.

Jim Sterling often does get a bit HULK ANGRY, but he has a damn fair point. Do you really want to play an extended QTE?

I'm not even especially hating on the game. I'm just telling you to prepare to be bored if you don't *love* QTEs.

This game looks like pure fail. Who needs it when you already have Ninja Gaiden, anyway?
