Watched this a little earlier. Looks like they're keeping the 2.5D vibe going which I'm very happy about. If it's the business I'll buy a Wii for this game alone.

I dunno, I never played the original due to not buying a saturn, so maybe that is why I'm not enamoured by this game...
Of course there is the fact I usually poopoo on most Wii games just because they are on the Wii, so maybe that is what it is holding my excitement back for this game... /shrug, then again maybe not since I bought a Wii a month ago.

Yeah, i could have done without the movie narration crap, but that aside, I think this game looks fun as hell. Let's put it this way, I would buy my old Sega Saturn back for this game.
I only vaguely remember the saturn game. All I remember about it is that I used to get scared as hell when some giant clock started chasing me. But this reiteration looks pretty cool. I'd get it if I had a Wii.

The game looks good, practicly a straight remake of the original, which for those that don't know is a non-exploring, 2D with 3D graphics game that was all about skills.
I played the free Christmas Nights game for probably +20 hours just to unlock all the stuff. Even though it only had one level and two boss fights, it didn't get old because there was always a way to try to beat a level a little bit faster, with a little bit more stuff collected.
If you can spend hours trying to beat your fastest time K.O.'ing Gabby Jay in Super Punch Out, or will replay a level in a good Sonic game just to try to beat it with out losing any rings, then this game is for you.

Back when my When my Saturn was brand new, if someone had said to me that Nintendo's 21st century motion sensing console will host a brand new Nights game, my imagination would imagine fast fluid visuals with loads happening on screen.
This though is a slight graphical improvement with a bland watered down version of a game that has had it's edge knocked out of it through a medicore design team - think Mariokart 64 compared to the Super Famicom classic.

I hope they can improve a bit those visuals, I dunno, but it feels like the Sonic Team has been using the very same engine right from the first Sonic Adventure for Dreamcast. I'd get it, if I only had a Wii, heh.
Pretty sure the voice is Jim Cummings, one of the most successful voice actors out there. I thought what he said was a little generic, too, but they coulda done a lot worse than pick him to say it.

Not having been blessed with a Sega Saturn, I never played the original, sans a two minute session with the game in a Toys 'R Us. I wanted to be the clown, but for some reason I was stuck as the little boy running around.
Well any-who, I guess my not being familiar with the original resulted in my rather lukewarm attitude toward the new NiGHTS... I mean, it looks fun, but is it really all THAT great?

Methinks that people who are turned off by the disney aspect havnt played the original. Yaknow, the one where you were a multicolored clown flying through a dreamscape and fighting colorful enemies.
I guess to appeal to the modern hardcore audience, they could have added some decapitations, a cover system, and made it a free-roaming crime sim.
