Okay, this is one of the strangest teaser videos I've ever seen. It contains no game footage. It actually contains no real video at all. It's just the game's logo, while a woman -- the intersex quasi-demon girl known as Kane -- repeatedly hurls abuse and swears at a book.
Yeah ... this is strange. The strength of the language is also something that is quite unbecoming of a Square Enix game, and not what I'd have expected from such a strongly Japanese game. I've heard the F-word in all sorts of games and it doesn't really matter, but the tone of language is uniquely surprising in this case. Sounds like we've got a definite M-rating on our hands.
Anyway, if you want to hear a woman shouting all sorts of verbal rage, then watch the "video."

At least this trailer shows good voice acting... which makes me actually interested in the game. I actually quite liked this trailer - effective and interesting.
24/7 swearing must be how the Japanese think English is colloquially.
So, this is the infamous hermaphrodite.. If anything, this teaser made me less interested in the game.
What was so great about that voice acting? I see everyone bowing down to it.. but I guess I'm not seeing it as being "Great." It wasn't piss poor, it was adequate, but jesus.. everyone here thinks it was great enough to sell a game by itself? Weird.
I guess everyone just has really low standards for their games. Or just putting emphasis on the word "fucking" counts as good voice acting. One of the two.
I find this a bit tasteless. I don't think her voice acting was the best either. This game will still probably be amazing but the trailer... not so much.
Nice to see voice actors throw passion and energy into their performance these days but, this trailer tells me nothing. Entertaining as it is, I still need to see more before I decide on this game. Good performance though!
Everyone has their misconceptions. I'm sure squeenix's is that in order to make the game sell better, it must make it more "western". Hence it must add qualities in its games it views to be aspects that will attract western culture such as swearing.
But being the good'ol japanese they don't forget about the home marketplace. What better way to allure the audience by throwing a penis on a girl. You know if it was just some girl, it be boring and overused, but now with the hemaphrodite that possesses only one male characteristic (a penis) it's certain to attract attention the same was Jun, Bridget, Maria, Haruhi (Not the Kyoani), Aikawa and the various other trap artifacts from the otaku subculture that possess one unique feature (penis) that seperates them from the rest of the sea of bimbos and tsunderes in the medium.
It looks like squeenix wants to both eat their cake and shit rainbows.
I for one hope they end up with cake ridden shit rainbows on their face.
Honestly, I think it would be a lot cooler if we could see the character saying it, rather than just a black screen with the logo showing the whole time. Then we'd at least be able to connect with some kind of character rather than just hearing a pissed off bitch yell about shit.
