Nidhogg should be 'way more comfortable' on PS4

8:30 PM on 04.30.2014

Pixelated dueling game Nidhogg hit PC back in January, and now we know it's coming to PlayStation 4.

"The game has always been best played with gamepads," Messhof co-founder Kristy Norindr said of the one-on-one sword-fighter in a post over at the PlayStation Blog. "So we’re pumped to be working with Sony on our newest release of Nidhogg."

Norindr explains that "sharing a TV and controllers is way more comfortable than crowding around someone’s desk," so bringing the title to console makes perfect sense.

In addition to a single-player training mode, local and online multiplayer, the PS4 version sports an exclusive feature: the DualShock 4 light bar with glow the same color as your character. Okay, so that's not exactly the most exciting thing in the world. Still, Norindr says the upcoming port is going to be totally "dope."

No word on a specific release window at this time.

Review: Nidhogg

Nidhogg has always been a mysterious turbo-indie game that only the cool kids could play at secret underground events in the 13th hour (NO, I WASN’T JEALOUS). Anyway, we plebeians finally have a chance to own ...more

At long last, Nidhogg is coming out January 13, 2014

The super intense and frenetic Nidhogg finally has a release date, set to come out on January 13, 2014 for Steam on Windows. We've been patiently waiting for Nidhogg ever since 2010, when designer Mark Essen was commissioned...more

Holy crap, Nidhogg is releasing this year!

Messhof's competitive fencing game Nidhogg has eluded many people. Everyone who comes away having actually played the game absolutely raves about it, leaving us plebeians to sit and sulk as we wallow in self-pity. So app...more

The Deer God funded, now coming to Wii U and Xbox One too

Did you get your pledge in for The Deer God? I didn't, because these days I try to severely limit the number of projects I back on Kickstarter, but damn did it look neat -- visually and conceptually. Crescent Moon Games ende...more

Channel your inner rock star and smash up a hotel in Check-in, Knock-out

Breaking other people's things is expensive. I don't suggest you do it unless you have a lot of money. If you have that itch, a better way to live out the fantasy may be to destroy hotel rooms in Check-in, Knock-out. A newly...more

Conflicks has a great alternate history setup with anachronistic space colonialism

Did you know that Leonardo da Vinci discovered MetaMatter? Well, not in real life, but in the universe of Conflicks he did. It turns out all it takes is to separate a chicken egg's yolk from its albumen, and to heat up the y...more
