I'm going to assume that if you haven't already played the stellar Cave Story, it's because you hate retro games or you purposely avoid all things fun. Since either of those things qualifies you for possible dementia, let's assume you have played Cave Story and that you are waiting to see what the WiiWare version will be like.

Good news for you: Nicalis updated their dev blog with some excellent new info, and not only is Cave Story still coming, but gamers can look forward to DLC for it! There was also some murmuring in regards to new content, but nothing has been confirmed on that just yet.

Knowing WiiWare releases, Cave Story will likely be one of the best ones of 2009, so I am definitely excited about this. Does this look like heaven to you, retro fans?

Sweet! I wonder what they'll add?? New playable characters? New weapons? New levels? Ohhhh, the possibilities!

Cave Story needs more love, so I'm very happy to hear this news. Hopefully Wii owners will actually buy the game >_<

I wasn't too impressed with the game myself.

I think the controls were a bit wonky and the framerate was so atrocious as to make the game hurt my eyes after a few minutes of play.

Perhaps something was wrong on my end? Anybody else notice a kind of choppy frame rate?

I had to download a program that allowed you to remap controls for any program, since I couldn't get over the whole 'use your right hand for movement' thing.

But other than that, this game is fantastic. I actually just finished the normal ending last night. Playing again because this time I want to save Curly. :(

I will definitely be downloading this for WiiWare.

Amazing game. Pitfall on crack with EXP

To all the people who had control problems. Oddly enough I plugged in my PS2/USB controller and it automatically mapped it to that, with good controls. Awesome!

I have only recently heard of cave story in the past year and I have it on my computer but haven't gotten around to playing it

I'm going to buy it regardless to support it
however should I wait till its release to play it or should i just play it for free right now? I mean its going to be the same game right

I never had trouble on the PC version, but my preferred way of playing this is on my PSP. It's like it's made for it!

Well, I've actually watched his most recent stuff, but I stopped bothering for quite some time. He's kind of fallen out of favor, mainly for dry and uninteresting commentary. He's competent, though, which is more than many can say, and his LPs are good for seeing games that you can't be bothered to play yourself.
