I'll have to wait till both consoles are out on the market to make my decision.
It's Killzone so it will definitely suck, but it's a nice show of power for the console.
Gravity Daze looks interesting.
really though...come on I can't take any videos posted on here seriously. I see that the video exists and then I look around at other sites I can be sure upload quality and watch it there. It is a hassle.
Price is the make or break.
Augmented reality man in banana costume fighting on my coffee table = WILL PAY ANY PRICE.
Screw it, I'm buying both portables. To hell with my money. I'm gonna keep the 3DS for on the go gaming and the NGP for multitasking. And by that I mean watching TV as I play the thing.
On one hand I find it to be a shame that it is so non-portable, but on the other, it looks a bit too great to be played on a crowded environment with screwed up lighting. I hope this thing offers a bunch of interesting action games while the 3DS gets to excel on RPGs. Me needs some RPGs for trips.
I shall have faith in Sony, and my favorite developers. All it will take for Sony to win themselves one NGP convert is a Koei Warriors/Sengoku Basara game, a Square Enix game (preferably a Kingdom Hearts or Dissidia game), and something incredible looking like Time Travelers.
But a severe lack of 3rd party support and no rpgs makes me wonder.....
Let's face it, even with all the complaining about the lack of support for the PSP, you still could garner a very competent library that would last long enough, given it wasn't(and it was never marketed nor presented as such) your main console. I mean, you could do with more variety, but most people who pick a single console for financial or preference reason will just bitch about the other one, so not much harm done, I guess. Instead of going "oh damm, I'd really like to play that game, it's a shame it's not on my console of choice" it'll be "Screw it, I never wanted it with crappy graphics or awful controls anyway", so people will healthily dismiss everything they're missing anyway.
I'm looking forward to seeing a revamped Monster Hunter on this thing. Maybe one with no loading screens and a better GUI.
Keep the info coming, Sony. I am nibbling.
my only question will be cost of services they are talking about throwing into the system. [i hate monthly fees, or even yearly ones at that. ]
Snarf.
@Springsteen
That's agreeable. I mean my PSP library consists of 50 games, but out of those 50 the majority I play are 3rd party games. First Party lineups from Sony haven't impressed me since the PS2, seeing as though its the same thing over and over (two high profile FPSes, a 'Play Create Share' game, an action/adventure platform and a high profile RPG). I think that, if it does release in Fall/Winter 2011, it better have some support from other parties IMO. I mean, it would have 7-10 months to get osme people to support their product, some advertising, etc.
(Psst. Sony, ask capcom to put SSF4 on NGP)
Anyways, can't say I really care that much about killzone or resistance, but they sure look nice.
Oh, and uncharted ftw.

Oh, wait, the last 22 years just reminded me how this is going to pan out.

That gravity daze looks pretty cool. I really hope Sony will nail it this time.
Unless you like to play your portables either walking or driving along bumpy dirt roads, I don't see why the 3DS isn't portable.
I admit; this is impressive. I will probably end up getting this at some point, probably a bit down the line, but it's clear that both the 3DS and the NGP have big positives, and I will most likely end up with both.
Seconded, I made the same point for the Resistance 3 video. There's a reason I bought a 1080p monitor, and it sure as hell wasn't to watch shitty quality videos.
Come on Dtoid, where's our HQ/HD option?
I've asked before, but it seems the reason Dtoid sticks with the ass-backwards Springboard service is because it allows them to receive the best ad revenues. Oh, well.
I love my PSP because of the original stuff, not GoW or Killzone.
Ah well, the longer I hold out, the cheaper it will be :)
Had this been back in the day where the PSP was announced, half of that promo would be focused on UMD movies...ugh. Actually, scratch that. The whole promo would show no games and would be part of some confusing artistic campaign.
