NFL prospect learned football from playing Madden
Straight from the "I told you videogames can be productive!" file comes a unique feel-good story. According to The Phinsider, a Miami Dolphins-centric site, Southern Methodist University star Margus Hunt learned to play football by playing Madden videogames. Hunt originally came to the United States from Estonia to further his promising track and field career. Once in the U.S., he wanted to try his hand at football, but quickly realized that he knew nothing about the sport. To remedy this, he promptly went to the store and bought a copy of Madden NFL. Hunt now proclaims that the annual football series taught him enough about the sport to be able to finally play it. In fact, not only does he play, but he excels. Hunt, a 6'8", 277-pound Defensive End is expected to be a high pick in this year's NFL Draft. And he owes it all to that bumbling sports announcer and his videogame.
