It's always seemed that I'm doomed to failure in any game which takes its cues from a competitive sport, but that's not kept me from trying time and again over the years. And in that time I've found that pure simulation is the absolute enemy of fun when it comes to me, which is why I'm looking forward to downloading the new version of NFL Blitz. And, as of today, I can.
The arcade-style take on Grid Iron is currently available for $14.99 on PlayStation Network or from the Xbox Live Marketplace for 1200 MSP. We'll be having a review from our own Samit Sarkar just as soon as he's managed to fully plumb its depths. And a little later tonight we'll see Max Scoville and Tara Long take their first crack at playing NFL Blitz (I hear comedy ensued), so stay tuned to Destructoid for that.

Just played the demo, it's awesome. Totally feels like the old arcade Blitz, if slightly toned down. Instant purchase, now I need to convince my friends so we can play online and relive our college days.
This post has helped me to have another perspective. I am researching this topic for a paper I am writing. Your article provided me great insight of my topic.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
hope that's not the case :\
Don't feel bad. if Microsoft didn't have its own bizarro economy you wouldn't have made that mistake.
Also, no late hits, no buy.
