Next two Fallout 3 DLC packs get pushed back a month photo

The first downloadable content for Fallout 3, Operation: Anchorage, was loved by some but received its fair share of hate mail. I happened to enjoy it for a few reasons, namely the the new locale and the killer loot shown above.

Bethesda's original plan was to release the second content pack a month after Operation Anchorage, with the final DLC pack making it out in March. For better or for worse, both pieces of downloadable content will now be delayed, Bethesda VP of marketing Pete Hines has revealed.

Now, The Pitt, a new quest revolving around the raider-populated ruins of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, will be released sometime in March. Additionally, Broken Steel, the one that raises the level cap to 30 and lets you continue on past Fallout 3's original ending, won't be out until April.

I was really hoping I'd be able to play Broken Steel before April, but if this delay means a better overall product, I will be more than happy to wait it out.

I just hope they sell me all 3 for a discount whenever Broken Steel does come out.

Well, if it means a higher quality product, I'll just grumble for a second and accept it. But again, I wish Broken Steel was the first DLC pack to be released of the three. I need to hear the CHA-CHING that comes with more XP past level 20. It's a Pavlovian kinda thing.

The next two packs need to have some pretty kickass loot if they hope to compete with the Gauss Rifle, stealth suit, and that lightning sword thingy.

Boo, the only one I want is the third one and that's going to be quite a while away now

Oh toss, modern toss. I had a feeling this would happen...

I suppose it will mean better DLC in the long run but *sigh and *moan

Fallout 3 was my GOTY and 'Operation Anchorage' was a welcome breath of fresh air. I'd recommend it to anyone, actually. It may have been a dollar or two overpriced based on the length of the DLC, but the loot gained from it was totally worth it.

The Chinese Stealth Armor and Gauss Rifle are just TOO COOL.

It's sad the next two DLC packs have been delayed a bit but I'd buy them day and date whenever they'll hit regardless. Maybe this means I've got even cooler loot coming to me! :)

Considering the delay, I wish they'd just release the level cap increase as a patch now. I really, really don't want to wait another 3 months for something so simple.

Damn it! I need, at the very least, the level cap raised. I'm on my fifth time through already and need to get access to new stuff! Operation: Anchorage helped, but in the end, only made my crippling addiction to this game much worse.

Maaaan, the pitt looked great :/

User made quests are great, but bethesda did some really great stuff with oblivion. And #3 should be free, especially seeing as one can raise the cap with a console command <_<

Does anyone else think its really stupid to release the DLC that raises the cap as the last one? I have been at lvl 20 forever and going through the first two DLC with no level ups is pretty stupid because once the level cap is raised there is nothing else to do ( I've explored enough!)

I still have a lot to do in the game with my first character, and I'm almost at level 19! The level cap needs to go! Although, I'm not worried about feeling like I'm wasting my time due to reaching the cap and not getting XP, because even with Broken Steel I'm sure that I'd get to 30 before I'd run out of things to do.

I'm not that excited for The Pitt. Running around shooting raiders in the head? It's fun, but I do that already. Maybe they'll do something cool with it.

Maybe you can drop a vat of boiling hot steel onto a group of dudes or something. I don't know, just throwin' ideas out there. I have faith in Bethesda to make each expansion worth our while.

Well... at least you X360 and PC folks get a release date. Those of us who bought it for PS3 are still crossing our fingers in hopes that we'll get it at all.

Could be worse. You could own a PS3 and not get any DLC at all....

Well that's certainly a downer. However, it isn't the end of the world. There's plenty of gaming I can do in the meantime.

I just started a new character with the hopes of getting the Evil/Neutral level acheivements. Hopefully, I can play though to level 8 with neutral, then go back to an earlier save, slaughter a bunch of people, and hit level 8 again. Then rinse and repeat for lvl 14 and 20.

And yes, the cha-ching of fresh XP hitting your character is in fact nearly orgasmic. I'd been playing at level 20 for so long I almost forgot about it.
