If we were to guess, we'd say that Square Enix's and Eidos' Deus Ex 3 has a name now -- Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
It's a safe bet, considering that Square Enix filed a trademark for that name in Europe. And then in North America. Human Revolution it is, then.
Deus Ex 3 was announced as a PC only title, but rumors and speculation point to the it making its ways to consoles as well.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Needz moar multiplayer.
Keep multiplayer the fuck out of DX, thanks.
I don't have the money to attempt to restore my PC to working order, nor do I want to. After all, Invisible War was pretty good on Xbox. Never got around to The Conspiracy on PS2 though. And the first could have easily been brought over too.
Again.
I didn't play the original prior to playing IW so maybe that helped me appreciate it.
That said I really hope don't don't "streamline" (pronounced: dumbdown) the experience even more. Well here's hoping.
When DX: Conspiracy (which was the first one, fyi RenegadePanda) came out on PS2, you know how much they had to dumb it down so us poor mongoloid console gamers could understand it? Not one jot. Sure, they had to re-design the UI so it worked when you didn't have a keyboard full of buttons at your disposal, but they did an excellent job. Every feature from the PC version (as well as stuff like GREATLY improved visuals) was present and accounted for on the PS2, and the only trade-off was more frequent loads. I've played the original on PC and PS2 and I prefer The Conspiracy, hands down.
Anyway, here's hoping for a 360 version of DX:HR. I promise all you PC elitists, us console gamers will be able to handle the complexity just fine.
At the end of the day, we're all just gamers, looking for quality gaming experiences. Here's hoping DX:HR is one of them, regardless of platform.
The original Deus Ex didn't sell so hot on the PS2 so they dumbed it down for the sequel because the market shifted.
Not trying to ruin your parade but you are the exception.
But if a game like Fallout 3 (which actually reminded me of DX in some respects) works perfectly fine on consoles (it does), I don't see why DX3 can't work just as well.
Really, I think the essence of DX was strong, engaging plot and dialogue, and an emphasis on player freedom in approaching various obstacles. I don't see why that can't be achieved on any and every platform.
Anyway, I hope that this new one will be as great as the series deserves, and hope that it will hit the 360, because I want to play it, damn it. I bought the original game the week it came out and it's been one of my favorites since then. Should I be denied playing the new one because I'm a Mac user and can't presently afford to buy a new computer for just one game?
I played DX on PC, great game. You could map all of the important stuff to a controller and streamline the control scheme without touching the content of the actual game - nowadays, that's not hard to imagine. The PC was the only place to get games like this...BACK IN 1999. You old dogs need to get over it, man. The new standard is here, and a purist viewpoint that borders on PC fundamentalism just isn' a healthy mindset to have.
Don't blame console owners though, blame the games industry as a whole. The industry wants to sell as much as possible to as many people as possible, so to capture an audience less experienced with games, they have to make the entry requirements a bit more attractive: a single (relatively) cheap piece of hardware, no configuration issues, guarentees your games will all run, and shallower learning curves into the games.
Hell, many gamers (me included) about 10 years ago wanted more recognition for the videogames industry, and for it to blossom forth out of its niche position. It has now done so. The consequence: a lower common denominator. Bugger.
I don't play on PCs these days as I don't have the money nor justification to get the best kit out there. I'm very happy with the 360, but I would relish a more PC-centric game to be released on it. Fallout 3 is a fine example, as Comrade Snarky said.
I know that would rule out everyone who doesn't have a gaming PC (including myself), but it would probably be better for most of us in the long run. Mixed feelings.
That being said, I loved Deus Ex and I am excited on the prospects of a new one, if it is done correctly. The last one released was not a great game. So hopefully they go back to the RPG elements that made the original so good in my opinion.
My point is that the parts of the game that really matter were anything but "dumbed down." Whether you liked the direction that Invisible War took with the story and characters, or the overall tone or the choices or any of that, is largely a subjective matter. So, if you hated the second game because it had a simpler inventory system or whatever, then I'm wondering what even attracted you to the first game to begin with. And, if you hated it because of the story, then fine-- but stop insulting the intelligence of console players just because a certain game sequel didn't suit your taste.
I certainly can't imagine how it would be desirable for a large number of Deus Ex fans to be unable to play the new one. Like the whole tree in the woods thing: if a great game is made and I can't play it, does it even matter? Not to me it doesn't. I mean, good for you if you get to play it, but is it really fair to say that a whole consumer group doesn't deserve to play it just because you or some corporate focus group think you know better than gamers what types of games they enjoy playing?
