Zone of the Enders really wasn't my thing, but I am clearly a minority case. The PS2 mech series proved to be quite popular among gamers, and many Hideo Kojima fans have clamored for the mad genius to work on another game. Luckily for those folks, Kojima has stated that he's definitely got his mind on it.
"A lot of users give us love-calls over Zone of the Enders. We do love the title, and we always wanted to create it on the next-gen [hardware] as well," says the barmy developer. "Kojima productions has a long list of things that we want to bring out and of course Zone of the Enders is on the top of the list. However, we have to manage staffing and work around other projects. Therefore it's not going to be out too soon, but we are really considering it."
So, that's a nice little nugget of hope for you guys to hold on to. Let's see a show of hands -- how many of you guys want to see an all-new Zone of the Enders?

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
This is what he should've been working on all this time.
Giant robots have never been my thing but ZOE had a great art style. I never finished it but it was my drug for a weekend.
Totally different animal. ZOE was kind of like one of those japanese spastic shooters like R-Type or Ikigura, but done in a 3D environment and mixed in with some very slick one-on-one combat.
But Gundam blows.
*raises shields*
This would be my next "Way of the Samurai 3" level of enthusiasm title.
DO WANT. BADLY.
Blooobloooblooob.
..until ZoE4.
Blooooblooooooobloob.
I missed out on both PS2 Zone of the Enders games. Here's hoping for a double-pack PS3 version a la God of War.
Well, lets see what happens this time.
*Looks for others online*
Seriously though, Kojima has been cock teasing us with plans for a "new game", not based on MGS. But then again he said MGS2 was going to be his last MGS, so... Anyways, It'd be awesome if ZOE3 was realeased for the major consoles. Hell, I'd get it for the Atari if I must.
The ZOE universe has so much potential if they keep working at it. ZOE 2 is one of my all-time favorite games, this is great news.
Also, whoever composed the soundtrack should come back, it was killer.
