So yeah, new timeline there too.
Agreed with Andy dixon, they're just making this shit up.
Lol yeah. Skyward Sword did have that Time Gate, so there could have been a potential alternate universe to go along with that. Also, SPOILER
Why the hell didn't the Time Gate send Link all the way to when Demise and Hylia were fighting? That way, Link could have helped Hylia and stopped Demise, and so that Hylia wouldn't have had to sacrifice herself to rescue her people, thus not reincarnating into Zelda, and thus the Zelda universe we all have played these past 25 years were just a parallel hoax and that the Skyward Sword Link didn't actually happen, causing gamers a massive BRAINFUCK because this is just a videogame, not real life.
I don't think Nintendo is dumb enough to confuse gamers by having the same subtitle in two games. Spirit Tracks already had "Spirit" in it, so Spirit Drill is out of the question. Maybe Soul Drill?
The Legend of Zelda: Soul Drill...
That actually sounds very emotional, and would actually be a good Zelda novel/teen drama.
I won't deny that I really wanted to know the official timeline but in actuality I don't!
The only reason I would believe this "timeline" to be true is the art style that pertains for all 3 games in the "The adult era that Link leaves then follows with The Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks" is the same.
While WW, PH, and ST do have the same artstyle, it has been known for a very long time now that these games are direct sequels to each other. WW to PH is about a few days or weeks, while PH to ST is about a century, or 100 years.
For example, in the original Japanese version, Tingle might actually be Link's Dad. However, because of miscommunications and mistranslations, the US product comes out, and instead of mentioning that Tingle is Link's dad, the English text describes Tingle as a lonely, old, single, fat, pedophile who follows Link around because he has nothing better to do than stalk little boys wearing green uniforms and hats.
Wind Waker talks about the end of OOT and has a fish named Jabun (Jabu Jabu) a Zora sage named La Ruta (Princess Ruto) and a great Deku tree>
Or that the Stalfos Knight in Twilight Princess just happens to have the Hero of Time's sword and shield from Majora's Mask?
There doesn't need to be an official timeline, but there are timelines written into the games. One clearly has a Hyrule buried beneath the ocean and re-founded on an entirely different landmass than before. And in that one Ganondorf died for good and the Master Sword was buried with him beneath the ocean.
Pity they had to kill that Ganondorf, he was the most interesting one.
Agreed. There are some Zelda's that are direct sequels, but the whole point for me is that the Zelda games are legends, so the stories always have slightly different variations on the same themes, which is green clad boy must save the princess and the land from a great evil. I've always felt that Zelda is the Rashomon of unreliable narrators.
And so what if there is one it makes the game have life to it.
...I wonder where link landing in the world of Soul Calibur 2 fits into this...
Hell for it to even have one shit has to get retconned anyway.
Do you have a link to that blog? I posted an image in mine, but that was a fan who made the image based on the info in the book as a visual reference.
The rest of the games = Dreams
That's why the Zelda series is so disjointed, and attempts to concoct a discernible timeline just raise more questions. When Link awakens the Wind Fish, he destroys the world.
Furthermore, did anyone else think it possible that the owl was the real villain, and the Nightmares were the Wind Fish's guardians, trying to keep the noble creature's sacrifice of birthing a world preserved?
Just a lil.
You were it. I had assumed that the image was official, considering it said official on it. My mistake.
TIMELINE B: After FUTURE Link Defeats gannon
TIMELINE C: When he goes back and carries on as Child Link
Time Line C happens as he cant go back to Timeline A,Otherwise there would be two Links, One in the temple for 7 Years. The other doing Majoras mask etc.
Timeline A loses its Hero of time so THE SAGES are the last ditch effort to save hyrule. Locking away gannon in the sared realm which makes the Dark world in ALTTP.
It isnt if Link is DEFEATED its when he goes into the Temple of time and leaves that universe without a Hero.
This whole split timeline thing has never made any sense, and this "theory" or whatever the heck it is just proves my point. If this turns out to be the real timeline, I'll give up on trying to figure it out.
But I'm calling a hoax now.
