New Wolfenstein trailer shows some snazzy Nazi power suits

Along with announcing a new Doom game, Activision, id, and Raven Software also saw fit to release some new media for their upcoming first person shooter Wolfenstein at QuakeCon. Although Nick origionally expected the title to be a placeholder, the new logo seems to lend credence to the game lacking any sort of ridiculous subtitle.

The new trailer shows the war-torn city that series protagonist B.J. Blazkowicz will be making his way through, along with several of the Nazi’s that he’ll be killing with his new supernatural powers. Those black Nazi power suits are looking particularly snazzy -- and how about those cool energy guns -- I’d totally wear one to industry events if I could get all the Nazi symbols replaced with Mr. Destructoid faces.

Some of the screens in the gallery do a good job of showing side-by-side comparisons of what the alternate dimension known only as The Shroud will look like. Aside from the weird green sky it doesn’t seem too out of the ordinary yet. Still, I’d gladly take an alternate dimension that’s “not so different” as opposed to “can’t see a thing because it’s so ridiculously dark.” The Darkness, I’m looking at you.

From what I've seen here, it definitely seems like it's not going to fall into the category of "generic world war two shooter", and if they make a good story for it with interesting characters, and the game play doesn't SUUUCCCKKK; this should turn out to be a worth-wild purchase. Right now i'm going to stay on the fence with it, and when the demo surfaces on Live, then I'll make my final decision on it!

id's going to be making some big strides in the coming years w/ the PC set to make another generational jump w/ Windows 7 & a move towards GPGPU processing.

Carmack talked about some of it to PCPerspective a few months ago.
