How strange. Last night we run a rumor that WET may be released some time this year, and today we get a tip stating that a brand new trailer went up on the official site several weeks ago and nobody noticed. This is certainly the first time I've seen it, and preliminary online scouting seems to suggest I'm not alone.
You can check out the trailer on the "unofficial" site here, where some solid gameplay is shown. It looks like they've taken heavy influence from Total Overdose and Stranglehold. That could be good or bad, depending on which of those two games they've taken the most inspiration from. It looks like this game mimics more of the former, and that's definitely not bad.
We'll continue digging around to find out the exact fate of this game. In the mean time, check out the video and tell us what you think!

And for some reason all I could think about while watching the trailer was: Sky Pirates! Although I have no clue as to why exactly.
As for the trailer itself, the gameplay sounds alot like the Katana mod for Max Payne.
For me, that games looks fucking sweet! I just hope the environment interaction is a little tighter than what I've seen in previous games like this.
I'd be lying if I said that "Sky Pirates" was what I was thinking, but now that you mention it, it seems to make some kind of freakish sense.
- Rubi Wet is dressed like a modern pirate and uses twin pistols, like someone who auditioned to play Revy from Black Lagoon, but was rejected for wearing too much clothing. She might also have auditioned for a Tomb Raider remake, but was passed over for Angelina Jolie.
- She wields a Chinese-y sword. Chinese pirates were famous, and they wielded Chinese-y swords, too.
- She's always flying through the air in that trailer, which might count as a low version of the sky.

I normally don't know my own mind, but my god you were so dead on. Usually I myself don't even think i'm making any kind of coherent argument, bonus points for making it seem somewhat logical.

And the name, Wet ? Is that supposed to be a sexual joke ?
The only thing this game can hope to be is another mindless, unoriginal action title. Well, I guess whatever floats your boat. Sometimes it can be fun to play these guilty pleasure games.
However its changed alot i think in the teaser she had like red hair ala heavenly sword. Though this looks like they ripped the stranglehold engine made some tweaks, sprinkled in some matrix and threw in some sass.

I'm not sure about this, but I believe the name "Wet" is based of the term "wetwork". That is to say, killing. The term is usually used in movies in regards to hiring an assassin.
I could be way off on this one though.
