If you haven't noticed, the mean, green robot himself Mr. Destructoid and yours truly have launched a brand new video site. We've given it a fancy name and everything -- check it out now: Video.Destructoid. It's so yummy, just like Fruit Loops. A collection of important people and big wigs in the gaming industry are mighty impressed with our beta launch, and we're pretty excited at camp Destructoid.
With all new things, there's always room for some experimentation. Take Rachel Lara and her misfits of gamer girls over at GirlGamer, for example. Yes boys, these are actual individuals of the opposite sex that enjoy videogames as much as you and I do -- they do exist.
We're launching new channels over at Video.Destructoid in the following weeks, and syndicating some neat content that begs for your attention, and the acceptance of our infamous Destructoid community. If you love or hate what you see, she also has a neat interview with developers behind SOCOM 4 -- and how they quickly were able to map controls to the PlayStation Move -- over at Vtoid.

... then again, I've always disliked gamer segregation, especially self-segregation. If you're female and want to rant or whine about something you like or dislike... just blog it. I don't know why it has to be on a girl-only site.
I see that the GirlGamer website is recruiting for writers... I wonder if they are accepting male writers? It's very telling to me if they don't.
However, my issue isn't with the video, it's with the way that the video was presented. Why not "Hey, check out this video from the folks over at girlgamer.com" instead of "holy crap they exist! You have to see this!!!". I get enough crap from bros that think we are all stuck-up whores who say we play games to get attention...but what they don't realize is other bros put us on that pedestal with comments such as "Yes boys, these are actual individuals of the opposite sex that enjoy video games as much as you and I do". We've already established that females who play video games are real years ago. Yup.
Anyway, I'm stepping off my soapbox. No offense to the author...it's just one of my pet-peeves. Love you.

I really don't know why this is front page news, but hey, the new video site is totally BADACLE.
If the GirlGamer site is mixed with both male and female writers and contributors... then that's great - but also maybe it's time for a name change.
Actually, she's not topless. The avatar just makes it seem that way. It's a fanart I drew of a pin-up model named Bernie Dexter.
And it's not Moe as in "mo-eh" like the Japanese garbage. It's Moe...like...Moe from the Simpsons.
Just FYI.
But I'll enjoy watching them with the sound off for now.
