I wonder how long it'll be until "dudes I found a girl that plays video games FOR REALS" isn't front-page gaming news any more? I swear I lose 10 years of maturity every time one of these articles comes up.

Meh... if Dtoid is making some money off of this - great. If not, then a "girl gamers" channel doesn't really seem cohesive with Dtoid's "we're all just gamers" attitude. Frankly, if it was a Dtoid girls channel I would expect something more like "... also, boobs" as the name of the section. Might as well go all the way.
... then again, I've always disliked gamer segregation, especially self-segregation. If you're female and want to rant or whine about something you like or dislike... just blog it. I don't know why it has to be on a girl-only site.
I see that the GirlGamer website is recruiting for writers... I wonder if they are accepting male writers? It's very telling to me if they don't.

As for feedback for the video site, I really like it. Slick design, nice layout etc. etc. Is almost strange to have a DToid page looking so professional.
Props to Jessika and Rachel. Both lovely ladies and hosts and I'm always happy to see coverage of events by people who know what they are doing.
However, my issue isn't with the video, it's with the way that the video was presented. Why not "Hey, check out this video from the folks over at girlgamer.com" instead of "holy crap they exist! You have to see this!!!". I get enough crap from bros that think we are all stuck-up whores who say we play games to get attention...but what they don't realize is other bros put us on that pedestal with comments such as "Yes boys, these are actual individuals of the opposite sex that enjoy video games as much as you and I do". We've already established that females who play video games are real years ago. Yup.
Anyway, I'm stepping off my soapbox. No offense to the author...it's just one of my pet-peeves. Love you.

@BrittanyLai, glad to hear that GirlGamer does have male writers... and no, by "just blog it" I don't mean on comment threads. There are sites like Destructoid's c-blogs where anybody can blog and be easily seen (many of Dtoid's community blogs are also promoted to the front page). Anybody - male, female, transgendered, whatever - anybody can write a c-blog here.
If the GirlGamer site is mixed with both male and female writers and contributors... then that's great - but also maybe it's time for a name change.
